ERIC JOHNSON! I honestly think I'm the only one who likes him around here. For blues I like Rory Gallagher as well, even though he's not on the list.

This list is ridiculously hard to just choose one from.
I wont pick an all time favorite, but for what I've been listening to in the last week, I'll go with Gary Moore. Incredible touch on the instrument, and some pretty screaming vibrato technique going on. |

And what of the Yorkshire boys, McLaughlin & Holdsworth?
Blues-wise, (apart for a couple listed) my favourites are Tony McPhee, Bob Brozman (an astounding slide guitarist), Peter Green (the 60's version), Duane Allman and never forget the troubled Mike Bloomfield.

Although Pat Metheny has had some bad albums, he has also had many great albums. He is an incredible guitarist. And when he plays good, the music soars above everything else.

He's yet to release a consistent album (in wha?, nearly 45 years?) but all these years I still enjoy a good Jeff Beck solo. |

David Torn.
I always veiwed him as more of an experimental guitarist, but still my fav from the list (of ones I know). I've yet to hear a bad record with him on board. Edited by Man With Hat - June 30 2008 at 23:58 |

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

Wow too many too choose one from Beck , Moore, Taylor, Carlos and other I have been a huge fan of years (I played keyboards go figure) BB King was the second artist I ever saw live.
But I have to give Pat Metheny really big bonus points for this
![]() I think he is one of us.

PMG's American Garage is consistent to my ears, but otherwise I agree and I tend to dip into Metheny albums and listen only to favourites.

That was a great rant from him. Totally agree. You and D. Heath might enjoy these wonderful Metheny clips: Medley live in Switzerland Don't Know Why, on Later with Jools Holland |

Metheny has been kicking ass these last few albums, especially The Way Up and Day Trip. What i can't wait for is a new PMG album. Cmon, The Way Up was 4 years ago! |
