excellent...  unless we have strong objections.. we'll count them as an affirmative for us...

Well, I've loved it so far. Been neglecting the suggested bands far too long. It's like a tiny adventure every single time. Never know what to expect. Smile

only a couple made in to the RPI/ISP/ADD/PCP genre...  the rest are being thrown  to other subs to evaluate..

next batch to come soon...if Andrea doesn't give us a list like he did before.. I'll go through them tonight and in the morning and come up with the next 7.

Perhaps that's the best part LOL
It's almost dawn here, so I better hide from the sun while I can. See you tomorrow if nothing extraordinary comes up.

good night/morning/sleepytime Linus.  I'm about to head out myself...and try to get a good listen with Gianni D'errico.  Had a good first impression yesterday.

Let's just refer to the time spent sleeping more than 3 hours as night for simplicity! Wink

Good night!

For what it’s worth, this is only a short and very incomplete list of emerging bands from Italy:

Some bands in the list are very interesting, others definitely less but all deserve to receive a little feedback for their music that you can post in their threads...

A lot of these new bands seem to play a great mix of heavy/crossover/RPI. It's really refreshing, but also a lot harder to pin them down.

Hmm. Anfiteatro is interesting. Very atmosperic-driven symph - heavy on keys that remind me of early PFM.

Don't know if I'd even call this prog. Pretty simple structure and progression with violin over it. Some interesting parts, but not that many.
2. Alperdute - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=43918
This was interesting. Excellent example of that tough RPI/Xover/Heavy blend. Needs more time.

3. Anfiteatro - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=45882&PID=2759051#2759051
As I wrote earlier: Symphonic with emphasis on atmosphere. Heavy on keys that often reminds me of early PFM. This could be a "winner".
4. Aphelion - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=46101&PID=2765809#2765809
Prog metal. If it's not metal enough for them, try heavy. It's metalish enough for me though. Quite good!
5. Arvalia - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=44576
Sort of a jazzy, jam band character to this. But in no way the only thing. Can't say the RPI vibes were very heavy, but then they surprised with a song. More time.
6. Bacio di Giuda - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=43397
Haven't heard
7. Biofonia - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=43376
Haven't heard

That's all for now. Dinner time!

^^^^ Many artists have joined the forum and are waiting for feedback about their music (among others aliperdute). So, please, don't forget to post a comment also in the dedicated threads... Smile
