Hey guys, a member over at The Rush Forum posted a homemade music montage of Rush. It's pretty good. Check it out here:

Also, as much as I love you rushfan, I hope the wings choke, choke, choke. I'm still bitter about their sweep of the Avs Ouch

Well my friend, the Wings/Avs situation is definitely one that we have agreed to disagree on.  I imagine that if the skate were on the other foot I might feel the same way about the Avs moving on, but fortunately for me this year that was not the case. Clap

As to your first Rush live experience, hopefully they provide you with a show that you will immensely enjoy and never forget.  I know that I definitely enjoy them and their live shows enough to keep going back for more each time around..

I received this info as a message on my MySpace page:

Rolling Stone had dispatched a reporter to spend four days with Rush on the Canadian leg of their tour last month, interviewing all 3 members for an article to be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine. Apparently this feature article is part of the most recent Rolling Stone (with Barack Obama on the cover) out on newsstands now. At this point all I know about it is that it's a very positive 4-page article with plenty of great photos.

Perhaps a reason to buy Rolling Stone again.

I just saw the show in Milwaukee last night and was mediocrely depressing for me. Geddy's voice just keeps getting worse and worse. :/ He sang 2112 fairly decently though, surprisingly, because he hasn't been able to sing that song well since at least the 90s.

Again, as the last time I saw them in 2007, 9 S&A songs is way too many and they really just bring the concert down. Someone told me in another thread that people are excited during S&A songs, but what I had said was just confirmed again: no one was moving during those songs, especially since the guitars sound like white noise. I was in the free seats so I could see the entire crowd below me and they just stood completely still. The Spirit of Radio comes on? Crowd instantly erupts. 2112 comes on? Crowd instantly erupts. Far Cry comes on? ...Eh. Even though I don't care for the album, I was the only person I could see singing the lyrics.

The show seemed to be a lot worse than the show I saw in St. Paul last year. Even with the amount of S&A songs, I remember the second half of the second set being phenomenal. Once Subdivisions started, I was pumped up all the way to the end. I have never been so active air drumming, air guitaring and air bassing in my life. This time, however, it just seemed eh. They would pump me up and then leave me to hang dry. I'm not entirely sure as to why that was, but it was disappointing. I was glad to hear 2112 again though, my favorite song and my intro to Rush. Definitely the best song of the show.

Perhaps the lack of enthusiasm is because the crowd seemed to be mostly made up of kids who I suspect have no idea of who Rush is, but they have the 2007 tour shirts! I was walking around Summerfest for 7 hours and could not believe the amount of teenagers wearing Snakes & Arrows shirts. I blame this on Guitar Hero and Rock Band, because now I just think all of these "fans" are trying to be cool because the songs were in those games. It was upsetting.

But at least I saw them for free (well, I paid 8 bucks to get into Summerfest itself but the show was free).

My parents are gonna bring me 2112 or Caress of Steel for Friday! My first Rush album it'll be!

I'm excited, though I'm sure I'll be in the odd minority of preferring the first 4 hard rock oriented rather than their classic 4 Heavy Prog...
Though I don't care, I'm gonna love another band!
