I haven't seen your feedback on La Seconda Eclisse... whatya think.

Also got a question for you... you can answer it here.. or PM me your thoughts.  Just what IS 'Italian prog' to you.. what makes it Italian prog..  and seperate from other subs here.  Take your time with that if you wish.  Something to chew on

More of the heavy stuff. Quite a lot of moody, dark, repetitive bass and guitar parts. Post-rockish at times, in Rush area the next minute. It's definitely NOT RPI, or symphonic according to me.

PFM-Dracula Opera Rock

Osanna- L'Uomo
Le Orme-Live in Pennsylvania
Il Rovescio Della Medaglia-Contaminazione
Barock Project-Misteriosevoci
Ubi Maior-Nostos
Raccomandata Ricevuta Rittorno

I've only listened to Dracula and Melos - haven't had the time to get to the others yet.

Well, Dracula is not my favourite PFM's album, but if you like it try this other one:

RANESTRANE - Nosferatu il vampiro

Here you can find some samples:

By the way, you've picked up many good albums...

I'd say they give me a lot of RPI vibes from the keys and with that hint of melodrama, but the themes and motifs feels more "mainstream" symphonic. I like the heavy bridges a lot. Nice blend.

^ exactly what I thoughtClap  It probably shouldn't be the case, but an Italian singer may have swayed me enough into the ISP direction (still haven't listened to the ones with Taglapietra from Le ORme)

I know, and I bet that's a sensitive spot for the whole sub. "It's nothing but symphonic with an Italian singer..." LOL

oh yea buddy; that's quite the can of worms ya got there!LOL

BUT, see exhibit A: Osanna
exhibit B: the bands that are symphonic but jazzy yet don't fit anywhere in between and still have the RPI scene stamped all over their sound (no need to go into it hahaha, it's not fightin' time yet)...and the jazzy bands that are too symphonic, etc.
