Hard choice. I would have to say the USA because of BTBAM, Dream Theatre, and Tool. Sweeden has Opeth and Meshuggah. :-)

None of which are comparable to Opeth or PoS according to me ![Embarrassed](smileys/smiley9.gif) Seriously, these two bands have done so much, revitalizing the scene, innovating, breaking boundaries, and last but not least introducing many a metalhead to the incredible world of more progressive music (and sometimes vice/versa, the world of metal can be more interesting than you imagined, after all if it weren't for more conventional metal, progressive metal wouldn't exist either ![Wink](smileys/smiley2.gif) )

Since the first name in Prog Metal is Opeth, I had to vote Sweden.........

I voted for Norway . There is no vote for Norway yet, and I have not found a weak band from Norway in the Archives. Actually I would put the USA before Sweden. The only Swedish prog metal band that I put among my 10 prog metal favourites is Pain of Salvation.

I went with the US for our great post metal output.
I cant blame the poll for being a bit lopsided though. Sweden, and all of Scandinavia know how to make some great metal.
