Topic: Pendragon Best Album. Posted: June 21 2008 at 18:57 |
Both are surely the best by them. Of course some may consider The World or Not of this World but I wanted to be an overall poll as well as well concentrated with just 2 options.
Masquerade is surely their most UNIQUE
While Window is my FAVOURITE. Having much Floyd as well as Genesis influences.

Not Of The World is my favorite; but, out of the two, Masquerade Overture.

I didn't hear "The Window of Life" yet, so I can't vote... But if I have to choose, my favourite Pendragon album is... "Not of this World"!
Maybe is not their most original... But I like almost every song on it!

You're no freak to tell that. It's a hell of an album, maybe not their "best" but surely it's a wondeful record by them and the first of the greats to come, also the first with the cool very Neo Covers.

I'll be honest, I don't know these 2.
I was a fan of Pendragon in the very early days of Alaska, Dark Summer Days etc and went to see them at Manchester University in about '83. It was the height of the prog revival but there were only about 50 punters in that night. I think my mate (M27 Barney) and I were the only real fans there that night. They were great.
I've really lost touch with them though, and think it's time to rekindle the flames. The only recordings I have by them are the tapes they put out before they got a record deal, plus Fly High Fall Far.
To be honest, I really don't like the sound of Pure from the reviews, but was planning on an investment in Masquerade Overture. Does every body think that would be the best bet? I'd welcome some recommendations
