I hated Library Loft at first, too. Now it's vying for second favorite driver album (switches around with Dowsing every so often).

I'm really quite the fan of Library Loft as well. It's very hard to listen to, I'd wager, but it floats my boat and musical aesthetic pretty much perfectly throughout.
Not quite as good as Kayo studio stuff though to me. Still very good though.
This thread should be called "The Only Toby Driver Thread You'll Ever Need" since Toby Driver, Tartar Lamb, and maudlin of the Well have all been discussed

It's not that hard to listen to, really.
And I'm changing the thread title, maybe.

Haha, I didn't even plan on having post #3000 being in this thread. Talk about a happy coincidence.
But I have 7600+ posts on another forum, so 3000 doesn't seem like terribly a lot.

Hehe I don't think it's hard to listen to, but that's why I said "I'd wager", as I could see how many others could find it a rather trying listen (see: Easy Livin's review of that album...).
So basically I'll rephrase: Listen with caution
...and I see you changed the name, haha. I foresee this thread lasting a good long while...it's one of the only threads I post in anymore.
EDIT: Also, I thought I'd post here as it's more relevant than in the TMV thread, that I'm going to change my name to something referencing either maudlin, kayo dot, driver himself, ulver, or all 4 (if that can be done).
Something simple, such as "Bathing Map" or "Kayo of the Dot" or "Driver Dot" or something stupid like that. I don't really care what it is, but I'm trying to find something simple as opposed to silly like the above three.
And the word "King" is no longer necessary in the title, if anyone tries to help me with a name, as that was for "King Crimson", which was my other favorite band besides the Volta when I joined the forums in '05.

Yeah, I'm not a huge progarchives fan anymore, but this thread and STC will keep me around.
For the record, both Library Loft and Choirs of the Eye were released as part of the composer series on Zorn's Tzadik record label.
Some other great Tzadik Composer Series albums:
Charles Wuorinen - Lepton (electro-classical) Christopher Adler - Epilogue for a Dark Day (world music/classical) Bill Brovold - Childish Delusions (avant-rock weirdness) Marc Ribot - Exercises in Futility (solo guitar neatness) Fred Frith - Back to Life (minimalist classical, really beautiful)
And I just got a bunch of new ones (shh) that I'll be listening to over the course of the day and eventually reporting on.

I'd certainly appreciate these reports, and also maybe a link to the site where you...bought...these albums, if they are any good.
Just drop it by on last.fm, if you can

Yes. If you all missed my comment in the blog (the one with the three-fingered blue hand pic), I will be donating as well.
At least 50 bucks and maybe up to 200. Because I'm a ridiculous, guilty fanboy.

New Maudlin material!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Donating will happen! Jesus, I cant even express how happy I am to hear this. Ironic considering I listened to all of MotW's albums last night.

I need to get my name changed...
Anyways check out my review for BLD, it's pretty bad, but I think I'm able to get a semi clear point as to why I rated the album how I did.
