Perhaps the antidote to remembering the songs that made you cry...what song made you feel like life was worth living after all? Not jump-up-and-down-Walking-On-Sunshine-get-me-a-tranquilizer gleeful, just uplifted, inspired, I-can't-give-up-yet-cause-maybe-there's-hope?
For me, there are two: Deep Forest's "Forest Hymn" and Kevin Bartlett's "Glow in the Dark" (title track). Co-equal inspirers. |

Tangerine Dream's 'Mysterious Semblance At The Strand Of Nightmares' as well as the end of 'Supper's Ready', both while talking a walk and staring at the sky as the sun set. Those are the kind of things I live for.

I'm not 100% sure, but I know Sigur Ros has written it.

Nothing. I always felt that way. The only time I get emotional about music is in a sad way. I can't name anything uplifting, which in itself is sad. |

I'll try it. I recently listened to some Schulze but didn't feel particularly moved.

If this song doesn't move you, you are a cold-hearted man.

This thread needs some Zappa, Supertramp and Queen..
Something unusual here: Wise Guys - Ich will tanzen!, Akon - Pot of Gold
Also, try some Mozart for classical, especially his piano pieces..

Truly very sad. All my favorite music's sort of uplifting to me (well, maybe not Art Zoyd so much), but some are more than others. And especially the prog I like. Here's ten: Can Mother Sky Magma Kobaia Le Orme Regina al Troubadour Flower Travellin' Band Satori Part II Amon Düül II Archangels Thunderbird Cos Populi (or just about any track from their first two) Premiata Forneria Marconi Impressioni De Settembre Soft Machine Hibou, Anemone and Bear After Dinner Cymbals At Dawn Grateful Dead Terrapin Station I got millions more. If I started including exotica, synthstuff, jazz etc the list would be endless. I think I made a quite uplifting muxtape. Check out the Cymbals at Dawn track + Kha-Ym, and Non Credo... again all except for Art Zoyd, really. |

Good one. Boredom's Seadrum from the album of the same name is 23 more minutes of pure joy. |
