I want to find the guy that wrote this and hug him. I'll spend some time reading this, but it might take a while

Well my friend, the Wings/Avs situation is definitely one that we have agreed to disagree on. I imagine that if the skate were on the other foot I might feel the same way about the Avs moving on, but fortunately for me this year that was not the case.
As to your first Rush live experience, hopefully they provide you with a show that you will immensely enjoy and never forget. I know that I definitely enjoy them and their live shows enough to keep going back for more each time around..

^^^ I second that notion As for the passing of John Rutsey, it's very sad indeed... RIP, and great drumming with Rush...

So now I'm curious. How did you find the show? What did you think to the new setlist? |
My favorite part of the show was when they played "Digital Man" followed by "Ghost of a Chance" I didn't expect those songs at all and they sounded AMAZING!!!

For those of you that may not have heard:
Original Rush Drummer John Rutsey Dies
John Rutsey, a founding member of the seminal Canadian rock band Rush, has died, his family announced. He was 55.
Rutsey
played drums with Rush from 1968 to 1974, as well as on the band's
eponymous debut album, but departed soon afterwards, apparently due to
a lifelong illness stemming from diabetes.
In
an obituary published in the Toronto Star, his family said his May 11
death was caused by “complications from his lifelong affliction with
diabetes." Some news reports said Rutsey died from a heart attack in
his sleep.
According
to Rush's official biography, Rutsey was supposed to write the lyrics
for the band's first album, but grew dissatisfied with his attempts and
never completed them. He was replaced by Neil Peart, who remains as the
band's drummer and lyricist.
Rush
guitarist Alex Lifeson said Rutsey became a fitness fanatic after
leaving the band According to a 1989 interview with Alex Lifeson on the
Rockline Radio program, Rutsey gave up playing (drums) shortly after he
left the band and went into bodybuilding. He competed on an amateur
level for a while, doing that for a few years. and continued having
contact with Lifeson until the early 1990s.
Funeral arrangements are being kept private at the family's request.

That's a damn good album. If you liked Farewell to Kings you'll get a kick out of Hemispheres. They played Circumstances
last time I saw 'em, maybe a full blown rendition of Hemispheres this time around? (but don't tell me! I don't want
spoilers!! )
When they play anything from Moving Pictures I'll be sure to think of you Rob.

I won't count the goals before their scored, but I'm definitely hoping for the Wings' to win the Cup. Pittsburgh played much better in Game 3 last night, or the Wings played much worse (I'm not sure which or both). But the Rush concert is a definite so it will definitely be a good week.
