^ whatever gets the job done.  It seems like some of the more obscure RPI bands have bio's taken straight from italianprog.com, I take it you have to get permission or use citation?

Getting permission would be at least good form, but as you know, on the web very few people bother to ask for it, or even to acknowledge their source. Personally, I like to write bios that are as original as I can manage, even when using other sources (which is inevitable). Anway, I'd be happy to help with rewriting any RPI bios that are not satisfactory.

true.. but in many cases.. there simply is no other information out there...  and especially with the newer ones.. all we have to go on is MySpace bio information. So we use what can find.  When the information is there.. we use it..  but this being the archives you know.. if if isn't there.. we can only use what we find hahhaha even if other sites have the same info hahah.

Raf: I don't think any are unsatisfactory, because I realize that our collabs sometimes have a rough time finding information about particular bands and "the bible" is often the only good source...I was just thinking as a college student and how serious plargiarism is..my instinct is always to cite everything; and I agree with your approach on being original (probably a big reason why I don't review muchLOL).  but if I happen to find any that need work I'll give it a shot or let you know.Smile

Well, I've looked at some bios, and they could use some changes. I've seen a particularly nasty mistake in the bio of a relatively famous band (won't mention them here though), and I'll probably do something about it in the near future.

Not at allWink.... It's not a mistake that concerns musical matters, but rather a band's name. I'll tell you in private!

That said, it looks like an excellent little page. I'll take a listen to the Bacio thing in a moment.

Nice site, guv'. The Bacio is in my gunsights, very nice indeed. One of the things I noticed is the justified reverence for all the classic old-school Italo-Prog and I can't help noticing that there is alot of great bands today. The late eighties had the splendid CAP album "Nei gorghi del Tempo" , a simple yet fascinating piece of wondrous music. I had the pleasure of meeting two members in Milan in 2003 and the nicest mid-age gents you can ever hope to meet. Jim, I have here a list of recent Italian prog albums that I feel need a little more adulation. I reviewed most but they seem somewhat away from any deserved spotlight What do you say about shining a little light on them!
ARIES I same
LA ZONA I Notte Difficile
ZAAL I La Lama Sottile
CAP I Nei Gorghi del Tempo
CAP I Robin Delle Stelle
CAP I Il Bianco Regno di Dooah
CHIAVE di VOLTA I Rittratto Libero
CONQUEROR I 74 Giorni
EZRA WINSTON I Ancient Afternoons
FOGLIE di VETRO I same
Gian CASTELLO I Taliesin
HOSTSONATEN I Project
HOSTSONATEN I Springsong
FAVERAVOLA I La Contea dei Centi Castagni
FINISTERRE I same
FINISTERRE I In Ogni Luogo
La MASCHERA di CERA I same
La MASCHERA di CERA I Luxade
LUZ ESCONDIDA I same
MALIBRAN I Citta Sul Lago
MARY NEWSLETTER I Distratto Del Sole
MINSTREL I Faust
MONTEFELTRO I Tempo di Far
NARROW PASS I A Room of fairy queen's
SUBMARINE SILENCE I same
NOTABENE I same
QUASAR LUX SYMPHONIAE I Mit
UNIVERSAL TOTEM ORCHESTRA I Rituale Alieno
SECRET CINEMA I Dreamin of my Past
SUNSCAPE I same
TAPROBAN I Outside Nowhere
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

*takes another unabashed Italian prog snort*

Absolutely superb. Guitar soloing reminded me of some of Barre's stuff on the first listen. I need to get that album sometime.
