"Home" -- Procol Harum - not sure what the majority view on this is but it's always been a favourite of mine, especially Barnyard Story and Whaling Stories

"Identity" - Zee (Richard Wright & David Harris) - Rick Wright does techno pop? I dunno, but it seemed to me like it had some good material on it, Strange Rhythm, Cuts Like a Diamond. Totally disregarded then and now.

"Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports" - an acquired taste, but I love it for its sheer wierdness, and Robert Wyatt's vocals! Specially the Philip Glass knock off I'm a Mineralist...

"Diamond" - Spandau Ballet.... whoa! Where did that come from? Haven't heard it for 25 years but I recall it having something that touched the proggie in me (The Missionary). Before they went all disco...

Yes: Tales from Topographic Oceans, it has many fans on this site, but not enough.

90125-much better, than it's reputation, surely deserves 3 stars from 5.

Dream Theater-apart from some weak songs a really good album, I like it more than its sucessor...

Pain of Salvation:Scarsick see 90125.

The 2 latest TMV albums are considered to be sub-par albums by many, but I like most parts of them a lot.

For Led Zeppelin's well, it's not bad IMO, but it's not really Led. I already had to take the change of sound of Physical Grafitti and Presence, well this, a major change of sound. A Nice album.

starting to overpower keys. Favorite Track: Rearranged

So there you have it. And I even managed to avoid any Rush!

Brother Where you Bound is Supertramp MASTERPIECE together with Crime. Different sound but the compositions are awsome for Supertramp standards.

I really enjoy Genesis We Can't Dance, the only one from the "plain" pop era: Abacab to We Can't Dance.

It has two 10 min songs, that are very good, not great, but very good and surprising.
As you know I accept pop or dance songs, so I can't Dance is a fave pop track like Owner of a Lonely Heart.

Asia - Quality rock album, AOR moments included. The musicianship is fine throughout, and Time And Time Again, Sole Survivor and Without You are especially superb. Apparently, because it's not prog and has prog musicians, they're betraying us. Alpha was pretty banal, though.

ELP - I quite like Works 2. I don't love it to pieces, but I'll put it on for a spin every now and then. Black Moon is one that I really do like yet seems to be rated lower than I'd expected. Not quite sure why, perhaps Palmer's changed drum sound and Lake's vocals didn't appeal, and there's a bit of good pop-rock on there.

King Crimson - I love Islands, Discipline and Lizard, though I'm certain 'the majority dislikes' isn't the right term. They're just not as loved as some other albums.

Rush - Caress Of Steel. My favourite Rush album, hands down. I don't think the general opinion is 'it's bad', but that 'it's just a step towards the uber-Rush of Moving Pictures [s]boredom[/s] fame.

Otherwise, not much to say.

Too Old is not among my favorite Tull albums, but it's pretty solid all the same, and I don't see what's wrong with it at all. However, Minstrel (which DOES get bashed from time to time) is a weird lil' pocket of emotional catharsis that pleases me whenever I put it on, and Broadsword is definitely an underrated 80's gem. And, although perhaps not a gem, Catfish Rising (and the subsequent live Little Light Music) does not get any good press at all.

I do enjoy Too Old. I think War Child is very overrated and this one being very left behind. Ok not awsome compositions or stunning solos, but definitly a 3 star album since it has nice songs, relaxing I should say.

I do love Catfish Rising, since one of my first Tull albums together with TAAB was J-Tull Live 199something..It had very well played 80's 90's songs, although much hard rockish than prog.

I really like Crest of a Knave.......more now than when it was released actually. Unfortunately it's the last Tull album I trully enjoyed as whole though each one since has had it's moments.

Wetton era has damn good stuff, but don't really apeal me as their early stuff. I love many stuff from Lark's and Starless, but not frequent albums I would play.

I haven't heard Works 2 but 1, and I really enjoy it, not fully, but a has overlooked masterpieces by ELP: Pirates and Fanfare for the Common Man.

Black Moon is a fine album with some weak spots. I do like Greg's voice, since Black Moon track was one of my first loved ELP songs.

Drama has been very well praised lately in PA, thx God for that. Although not being underrated but overlooked, not many fans know it's a hell of an album.

Time and a Word well I really don't enjoy it, since Jon's voice is weak IMO.

Totally overlooked. I love it as most of Yes albums, even though not having amazing material, the album is very consistent and good nice songs. As well as Supertramp's debut.

Larks is my all-time favourite album. I do really love everything by Crimson that I've got, though.

I've always thought the masterpieces are easily Palmer's side and Emerson's Toccata Con Fuoco. I absolutely love bits of Pirates, but lots of the orchestra work seems unneccessary to me. Fanfare, I just don't like the synth choices, too grainy. Works 2 isn't a great ELP album, and it doesn't have obvious great tracks, but I do enjoy it in the background.

Black Moon is a fine album with some weak spots. I do like Greg's voice, since Black Moon track was one of my first loved ELP songs.

Which DT album are you on about here Norbert?

I agree with you about TMV, TBiG is their best album IMO and Amputechture is at least a big improvment of the very frustrating Frances the Mute.

Funny, now that I remember Crest... I don't think I liked it that much. IIRC it lacked the earthiness that's pretty much integral to Tull's appeal.
