Minstrel in the Gallery gets bashed? News to me. I do remember reading that Too Old To Rock'n'Roll, Too Young to Die is generally seen as one of their lesser albums, though...

Maybe Fugazi by Marillion? It has almsot a 4 on Pa, i think, but most seem to like it less than Script and Misplaced Childhood at least... but then again, so do i, so.. uuh.. i'll have to think.

Yeah, Minstrel was listed here. I think I trod the line of "majority dislikes" and "majority doesn't really care about, so they never mention it, but fans REALLY like it."
Too Old is pretty much universally hated though; too much rock, not enough prog, something like that. It's a friggin' rock opea fer goshsakes though, and besides, there's some nice material on there, particularly the first side.

Ah. Now it makes much more sense.

That makes no sense... Aqualung is pretty well-respected, but it's not that prog either.

Well, I actually am High Tide's wonderful Sea Shanties album  ... Not a person, but a very beautiful cover nonetheless (inspired by Coleridge's The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, btw). I do like to change my avatars, unless one day I find one that suits me perfectly (very unlikely).
Back in topic, if I have to think of albums I like while the majority seem not to, two immediately spring to mind: Rush's Vapor Trails and Yes' 90125. Someone else also mentioned Crest of a Knave, which is quite a good album in my book, though certainly not a masterpiece like Aqualung or TAAB.

I like all their 70's albums but my favorite Kraftwerk era is probably 77-81. Man Machine has the the second most raters and the highest rating, so I guess their just unpopular among the people posting in this forum.
The Residents conceptual masterpiece: Mark of the Mole (3, 02) My favorite Klaus Schulze album (I think) Blackdance (3,06) Then there's the perfect Quiet Zone/Pleasure Dome by Van Der Graaf (rating: 3, 42)

Rush's Vapor Trails. Although the recording may not be up to par, the songs are solid and some of the most emotional that Rush has ever written. Just "What It Is" is worth it.

o specify some intentional albums from bands, or vice-versa, that the majority dislikes to show you on this thread but, i guess this will serve my purpose:

Well, I like "Somewhere I've Never Travelled" almost as much as Ambrosia's self titled first album. I know they started going a little more pop on this record, but songs like "I Wanna Know," "The Brunt," and "Dance With Me George" any prog band would be proud to own.
I think that if you took "Illegal Alien" off Genesis(Shapes) and replaced it with any of the songs off 3X3 (especially "You Might Recall"), you would have a classic from the 80's Genesis period. "Home By the Sea?" "Silver Rainbow?" Getting experimental on "Mama?" One of the most interesting slower commercial pieces in "Taking It All Too Hard?" The songs from 3X3 were ready, add one or two of those and it's almost as good as Duke. I said almost.
What's wrong with KC's Beat? Sure, it's not as good as Discipline, but way better than the wandering and aimless Three of a Perfect Pair IMO.
And what about artists who had Prog-anomaly recordings like John Miles' Zaragon? John sang with Alan Parsons, and this album has similarities to his work.
Todd Rundgren's occasional foray into prog like Initiation or A Wizard, A True Star? I know much of the rest of his catalog is not prog, but give the man his due for constantly changing direction and pushing the envelope. Utopia is here.
Angel's first self-titled? Even the following Helluva Band gets pretty close to what we call Metal Prog around here.
Bill Nelson's Getting the Holy Ghost Across? If you're gonna have David Sylvian sitting around here, you might as well invite Bill to the party.
Gary Wright? Hey! Who threw that? 
Anyway, maybe a "Fringe Prog" section could be invented for individual discs that fit the genre but don't necessarily fit the artist.

80s King Crimson, particularly Beat. Almost as good as Discipline, but too pop for many prog fans.
