I used to like Floyd, King Crimson, Yes, etc, but there's a time to move on and let go. [/QUOTE]
Time to raze the seven wonders of the world, as its time to move on.
Time to burn all those old books, as its time to blog on.
Time to dump the dinosaurs, as the androids move in. Happened a long time ago , Lar !
There is no such thing as moving on with art, whether music, painting, architecture or litterature.
ITS TIMELESS.
Today not many people like history all that much which is why we are condemned to CONSTANTLY repeat the same tired mistakes. Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Hardly ANY of you have listed any good bands. What is with all this 60/70's crap?! You can't all be 40 year-olds in here can you?
I didn't realise how many people liked ****, boring and simple rock. |
these are the forums of "ProgArchives.com Your Ultimate Prog Rock Resource" what do you expect everyone to be listening to? 70s were the era that prog rock was most popular in so thats what you are going to see the most here whether you like it or not. personally, I only had one 70s band in my top 10 so I'm not speaking out of bias. also who are you to say that the bands that were listed arent "good". yeah, King Crimson, they suck. same with Pink Floyd and Yes. absolutely horrible bands. (sarcasm) and SIMPLE rock? no, most of it isnt simple and thats why its called "progressive".

Looking through so many of these lists I see so many people stuck in the seventies... makes me sad. |
*checks own list* a 1920s band, a 1940s band, a bunch of 60s bands, two 70s bands (but Throbbing Gristle and The Fall aren't exactly on every single list here) and a 90s singer Not guilty m'lud

- Secret Chiefs 3
