 oh no....

I've actually had contests here at PA's where I've offered my copies of albums I didn't like .. no one took me up on it though

and speaking of that...  I do need to get rid of a lot of albums when Raff moves here.. the first to go..  MY Genesis albums..

we thankfully have slightly different tastes in prog.. so our collection overlap is almost exclusively in the big groups...  I have more Genesis.. she has more King Crimson... I have more Yes...  she has WAY more Tull (mainly a fan of the Cornick era.. the rest never really got to me).  I have more Floyd. We sort of diverge from there.. she's more English.. I'm more 'Continental'. the Spanish, French, German, and Italian stuff.

Hm.

Personally, I think the airbrush failed.

Good luck with the clearout.

BTW, Area? Where to start? Arbeit Macht Frei?

Cheers. They will be put onto my 'spree after this one' list...
If I'm lucky, I might be able to make my grand and subversive order tomorrow.

Nor can I, and I hope so.
Just need to restrain my 'can't decide, buy both' reflex for economic potential...

hahahha..  oh yes... that can be very hard to restrain..  and I've failed on more that one occassion.  When I buy.. I tend to in rather rediculous volumes like my first trip to Rome when I came home with .. I think it was 75 CD's.  I had brought a spare suitcase .. just for albums LOL

Karn Evil 9 2nd Impression is officially great. Hoping I'll enjoy the third more than I usually do.

And, I'm choosing between Di Terra and the debut at the moment...br... it's painful.

Seriously, that's worse than my restraint in not annoying the cats when they want to be fed.

I LOVE that 2nd impression... almost as much as the first half of the first.. and the third?.. well that just never..ever caught on to me.   Another group and album I have stayed away from reviewing.. but my review of BSS would be marred by KE 9.. which I think has some of their best playing.. and musical ideas.. yet as whole. .the whole piece just sound disjointed as all hell.  That 2nd impression... much as I love it. .and I do.. makes no sense to me within the context of the KE 9 suite.  And the 3rd impression.. meehhh... never took to it.

hahahha.. method to madnes there... when the albums were 1/2 or even a 1/3rd of what you'd pay here in the states online. Many of those albums I found for less than 6 or 7 euros.

Very true, and I'm sure you needed all those albums to hide your secret DT collection.

Wink

Anyway, off now. Third impression was more fun than I remember, but still not great.

oh great ..thanks for reminding me...  Raff's DT collection comes with her LOLHeart

then again.. hearing them when we are together always leads to more pleasureable things like...

putting on.....Caravan.. the anit-DT LOL

it is a perverse musical ritual in the house of Mick and Raff..

the only DT album I had... is now in the procession of some acne-scarred teenager I'm sure. I have some stinkers in my collection.. but that DT didn't even rate 'drink coaster' status... I  pawned it.

Rob, if it helps any...I took a listen to the first half of Are(A)zione and it really is a great live album.  Because Area are very much in the jazz vein, they know how to rearrange the compositions just enough in the live arena to add that extra flair while staying true to the feel of the composition.  "La Mela di Odessa" has a hilarious section where someone in the band eats a friggin' apple on mic!  Then they procude to break out one of the greatest grooves you'll hear, complete with Demetri's all-out "pseudo-rapping".  Good stuff.
