As I stated in another thread I was reading the RPWL biography and found it quite uninspiring and unprofessional. Hope my first biography for the site will be an improvement. I don't mind if the person who processes this, or any other RPWL enthusiasts, make some edits before it is uploaded.

Thanks, Jordan.

RPWL is a German Neo-Progressive Rock band formed in 1997 as a Pink Floyd tribute act called Violet District. Eventually the members (Phil Paul Rissettio, Chris Postl, Karlheinz Wallner and Yogi Lang whose surnames make up the band name) decided to branch out and write original music. RPWL's debut album God Has Failed was released in 2000, ripe with Gilmour-era Pink Floyd influence and subtle hints of Phil Collins fronted Genesis. Follow-up Trying To Kiss The Sun (2002) is much in the same style and features newly recruited bassist Stephan Ebner. 2003's Stock is an odds and ends album of rare and unreleased material although the Pink Floyd influence has faded considerably by this point. As their career progressived RPWL moved even further away from the overt Pink Floydian sound and on 2005's World Through My Eyes (Often viewed by fans as RPWL's magnum opus) a guest appearance from Ray Wilson, infamous from his vocals on Genesis' 1997 Calling All Stations album, helped draw much deserved attention to the band. Clearly impressed by his cameo role on the World Through My Eyes the band featured Wilson on their live album Start The Fire Live, released the same year. 2008's The RPWL Experience is an almost unique blend of influence along with hints of the old Prog Masters there is a modern hitn of Alternative Rock here as well as some heavier riffing than what has been seen before on a RPWL release. Fans of Pink Floyd and Genesis will either love or hate what they hear in RPWL and while its unlikely the band will ever break into the mainstream as a well kept secret of German Prog there is much to explore here.

Original PA RPWL Bio...

RPWL (Risettion Postl Wallner Lung - the band members) is a German neo-progressive rock band clearly influenced by PINK FLOYD, but also by the BEATLES. They make melodious music, well written songs, although it could have been a bit heavier. After releasing two splendid albums, "God Has Failed" and "Trying To Kiss The Sun", RPWL thought it was about time to close this chapter in their career and move on to new projects. They released a third album in 2003 "Stock". Unfortunately this will be the first RPWL release which does not get my full recommendation. If you are a big RPWL fan there's certainly enough material to be found you will enjoy.

The Neo team will let me know in good time. I think your bio (or something very similar where your bio is the root) will end up in the listing. We will just have to wait and see. Tongue
