Went in to a store today to pick up the latest by Earth - The Bees Made Honey In The Lion's Skull.  Great album.

A few minutes after being in there and talking with the owner, I start looking around.  He puts on a band that I had only heard of a time or two but never heard their music.  Souvenir's Young America - An Ocean Without Water.  What a fantastic album.  Love the harmonica.

Anyway - I walked out with both and then some.  They have a myspace site - check it out.

Souvenir's Young America is great,we had accepted them for the post metal sub but there a few objections so I won't add them. The Post Rock Team is welcome to add them though.

SYA tends to bore me a little, but I wouldn't say they're not qualified.

An Ocean Without Water is the only album I've heard.  I didn't think it was boring at all.

Hopefully they can be added.

back to serious business: has anyone heard the SPARROWS SWARM AND SING band? I came across their "O'Shenandoah, Mighty Death Will Find Me" album recently, and it's very GY!BEish...if someone informs me this is a lost GY!BE album I'll believe him for sure! YNDI HALDA seems to be terribly original comparing to SS&S guys

Ah ok, yes. Meanwhile Back In Commuist Russia gives me a new found respect for free-form poetry, it just sounds so damn cool when recited over post-rock. Agreed?

another recommendation right after SPARROWS SWARM AND SING - ALCEST. I guess this French one-man-band belongs to PA... his mixture of shoegaze and atmopheric black is unique!

Cerberus Shoal's s/t is a brilliant album, and definitely their best, for anyone with any interest in them.

Sadly he has ceased doing Black Metal. His latest album has nothing to do with it.
