Yeah, they're more popular than Caravan, still not as popular as they should be though. Both bands should have more fans, but people like bad music, what can you do.

Are you saying we PAers like bad music ?

I'd like to point out that Porcupine Tree currently have more plays on last.fm than Brittney Spears.

Oh boy.  Sorry, but for all the bands discussed around here suffering from a lack of exposure, I wouldn't exactly put Porcupine Tree in that category.

I'd like to point out that I find that outstanding acts such as Klaatu & Ange would likely be pleased to enjoy such a lack of fans in America.
Anyways, once more it sounds like us poor proggers are somehow put upon by not seeing all our fave acts topping the charts and overwhelming the mass media that we so often put down for its' lack of taste. Ahem.....

Klaatu and Ange? Try Conventum and Third Ear Band.

PT has lots of fans inside the prog comunity, being myself one Wink

But maybe in a more mainstream scene like Mtv or stuff, PT could somehow be unknown.

Even though, I think I saw a video from them on TV, so I guess that their fame is ascending outside the prog comunity.

I'm very surprised that Porcupine Tree haven't caught on outside of diehard Prog fan circles. They're a way more interesting band than Radiohead but let's be honest that really doesn't count for much in today's music scene. But still albums like In Absentia, Deadwing and Fear Of A Blank Planet are hugely ignored by the masses and I know given the chance from a lot of people their fanbase would increase hugely.
