![](http://www.jinx.com/Content/Product/1153p_99c_1b.jpg) I'm working on getting up earlier to take a run at the beach but it's hard to do. I've been pretty lazy recently but since my brother found a local grappling gym so I have to get back into shape. Right now all I'm working on is the basics: diet, sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, and stretching.

Hey, I've been meaning to get back to the gym dammit! Leave me alone. ![LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) That really needed to be one of the choices.

Fortunately I work out every day: I travel to/from work by bicycle, about an hour every day (that's fast cycling - like 25 kph). Unfortunately I love to eat too ...

I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and do a 10k workout on the cross trainer plus some weights. I eat and drink way too much though and this is hindering my fitness.

How did you do that? Did you just try and push too much or did something just go wrong? Sounds scarey.

Long walks. At least once per day. Otherwise I don't work out much. Used to be a frequent runner before, but it turned really boring and repetitive after a while. I think a lot about what I'm eating, though. Fruit, veggies and fibres. But who can resist cake?

I guess this one is for me.
Yes I tried to hard, after only one month I webnt up from 50 pushups to 200 a day, it was stupid.
Thanks heaven the riceps has three mmuscles and only the central one broke (the union to the bone), so the other two will replace the failling one, if a second one gets affected, then I will need surgery.
I will have to take care of that arm, or operation, but it means a scar from elbow to shoulder, and a risk of losing some movility, being that I'm not a pro beisball pitcher or anything, I'd rather keep it low.

Yes, technically the triceps is one muscle with 3 heads (origins or proximal attachments). As with your case Ivan, the other 2 heads will compensate for the function of the injured one. But do you happen observe some kind of weakness on the injured arm?

No weakness now, it hurted for a few months (still hurts once in a while, specially now that is getting cold), and the muscle fell almost to the elbow (Here they call it Popeye Syndrome) ![LOL](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif)
Now the muscle is slowly vanishing and everything looks almost normal, but according to the doctor, I have to be carefull with that arm.

Popeye Syndrome, yes. That happens during a biceps tendon rupture as well. See: ![](http://www.netterimages.com/images/vpv/000/000/008/8304-0550x0475.jpg) And take care of your arm.

I don't work out, since I really don't like it. However, I am very active, as I walk at least a mile a day (I don't have a car), and I do move about a lot both at home and at work. In the past, I went to the gym for short periods of time, but it felt like a chore, so I gave it up. For some four years, when I lived in Finland, I practiced belly dancing, and loved every minute of it. That was the kind of exercise I could really like... Not too strenuous or potentially harmful, but very good for your overall shape, and lots of fun too!

![Heart](smileys/smiley27.gif) and you still got it going on sista... ![LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) for me.. I don't bother with working out... one of those middle-aged freaks of nature that eat the frig.. and clean the kitchen.. and still not gain weight. Get enough exercise at work I guess.

Question.
Has there been a thread yet about good upbeat prog to run/jog to? Because I defenitively looked foolish last time.

I been doin' the ol' bicep curls recently. When I gain some more body fat, maybe in the next few years, I will be getting into the real mans weight lifting stuff.
