Yikes! Wasn't expecting another great fan from it!
Love that album!! But not Nurse ..
Don't you think Nurse is rather an incosistent album after Trespass, I really feel that even though having Musical Box. I really prefer having Genesis Live before that. (no offense) Just wanna know YOUR answer cause YOU are a Trespass fan so please others do not reply except you're a Trespass fan |
I have to agree that Nursery Cryme isn't the most consistent of albums, with Return Of The Giant Hogweed and Seven Stones falling slightly beneath the other tracks, but at least it really does seem to be trying on everything. No stepping down from the challenge or relying on convention (as I find the random keyboard solo on Visions Of Angels, which doesn't *really* fit, is, for instance) and no attempts to . Absolutely bestial opener and closer, some interesting folky experimentation (I have yet to hear another duet like Harlequin), a delightful nod to the band's folk-pop past with For Absent Friends, and the bizarre Harold The Barrel. Return Of The Giant Hogweed and Seven Stones are very much one-mood songs for me; if I'm not in the right mood, I'll usually find them awkward or overdone. A bold and distinctly progressive statement, which was trying to do new things. I think Trespass was a slightly more conservative album, even if it gets me more emotionally and is harder to poke holes in. Yeah, I noticed your list had one of the random bugs we seem to get on this forum: Camel was over ELP

Oh come on, it's me who will be doing all the work. You just need to think a bit. Anyway, one week left for this one.

Oh I know. Its just today I was trying to decide my favorite KC song and I don't think I can pick one supreme one. That's probably the case for many bands. But i already have an idea of the ones I want to an extent.
I'll definitely be particpating and it should be fun.

Glad to hear it.
Oh I just remembered, if any one would like to contribute comments about their favorite symphonic album, please do and I'll include it with the results.

I think Genesis Live is a good deal of not buying Nurse.. Having Musical Box and Return of the Giant Hogweed really great performed, plus The Knife and 2 from Foxtrot.
Yeah I really prefer Camel, it's not that I think they're better or worse but they're way much more consistent. BSS never apeal me. The rest have some AMAZING songs but the album itself doesn't really show me what Camel does.

Depends on the person: it misses Harlequin, Harold The Barrel and The Fountain Of Salmacis, three songs which I love to pieces. I really enjoy For Absent Friends, and even Seven Stones if I'm in the right mood, but really Fountain should simply not be missed, truly amazing song. I should get Genesis Live/Seconds Out when I next try to buy things.

I'd decided that if everyone just forgot about this and just never brought it up, I'd just not do it. Anyway, APs have been killer. My free time increased by a lot so it won't be long.
