^^
Was playing that one a lot for the last two weeks.
Some of this week's highlights:
OAKSENHAM - Conquest of the Pacific
Wonderful piece of modern symphonic prog
Noxagt - all three albums, but The Iron Point in particular
Gang Of Four - Entertainment

Just gave it another listen, and this is undobtely my album of the week. I felt a great emotional connection with the album (something missing these days), and it blew me away!:
Pendragon - The Window Of Life
The second Pendragon record I own, and again it's very, very good stuff!!

This week is filled with new stuff I received.
I'll only mention one album, though.
The Wrong Object - Stories From The Shed (I guess Jim Garten will like this album...)

Several albums:
The brilliant as usual, new release by mastermind musician and composer Dan Britton's and his new band Birds & Buildings - Bantam To Behemoth
Setna - Cycle I
jazz/zeuhl from this fine new French ensemble
Might Could - Wood Knot
Acoustic prog-rock; 3 guitars and 1 bass
RIalzu - U Rigiru
jazz-rock/prog rock from Corsica/France; reissue from the 70's
Actual Music Quartet RSM - s/t
experimental and a bit of post rock, creative and very well done. Read my review here: http://www.sonicfrontiers.net/php/review-186.html

Hm.
Getting some likeable progressive metal is always a good thing, so La Masquerade Infernale - Arcturus gets my recommendation. I love the inclusion of violas, cello and piano on some tracks from it, especially Ad Astra. |

It's a band that used to not apreciate but now it's getting much love thx for Camel that Camel is also a fave now but let's update things up :
Also loving Foxtrot that a month ago didn't like it at all! Nursery Cryme I think it's still an album I don't really understand what's really good... Though having Musical Box.. And of course SEBTP and TLLDOB.. |

As likely suggested by my latest posts in the "What are you listening to" thread...
and to think... I totally lucked out in finding it in a used bin for nicely cheap. Astro Cortex and Myriapod have officially blown my mind. |
