`Please, don't get up! I 'll let myself out!', she said and slowly walked to the door and got out. She closed the door behind her, as quietly as she could. I watched her as she was heading to the door. Despite her wonderful body, she always walked modestly, but gracefully. And she had those splendid, long hair with those curls lifting off with her every step.... I watched her from behind wondering if i would ever look at her in the eyes again. Although, i wasn't sure if i wanted something like that. Her look always made me feel uncomfortable. I remained sitting on my bed, looking down, but quickly I turned my eyes on the ceiling, as i was starting to well up.

I met and fell in love with Kate one night that was like taken from a movie. We had both gone to a party for the same reason: we had been invited by a common friend and we did not want to offend him. As for the party, indifferent music, matching the people around us, discussing only dull work matters, and me with a drink in my hand whistling a tune that had stuck in my head from the taxi on my way there. We were introduced by George, our common friend that hosted that dreadful party, and up until that moment i would curse him for making me come, from that moment on, i was grateful. Within the next few hours, we had acquired familiarity of years and we were eating pancake by the sea. After a clumsy bite my lips and face filled with chocolate. Just before i reach with my napkin and sweep my face she said: `I got it!' and bent towards me and kissed me! As soon as we pulled up, we took a grimace of disgust! You see, praline and bacon is not exactly a matching combination of tastes!

Within the next six weeks our relationship lasted, i experienced more than from with all my previous girlfriends, combined! We would meet every day after work and spend the rest of the day together and every weekend we would go away on a trip or something. Even sex was amazing with her. Before her, i thought i was amazing in bed. Little did i know!

She broke up with me, all of a sudden , one Sunday morning. She rang my doorbell at eight o' clock in the morning and given that she lives one hour away, you can imagine that it was something serious. I was terrified! She told me that she met a guy who put her back on track and on the right path! That made her see that all that between us was a mistake, a false step. Each word of hers was like stabbing my heart! She also told me that she didn't regret for anything, because she was able to discover what she really was. Why would i care? What about me? I had discovered what i was a long time ago!

I was all alone in my room, crying over my bad fortune: 'My God, I will die alone!', I said to myself. I was turning thirty and never had a long term relationship! I called George. He might be the cause of all that but still he was my best friend...

- Hallo?
- Hey George, it's me...
- Hey Mary, what's up? How's Kate?

I sense something cyclical about it. At least he got to eat a pancake by the sea. That's always something special.

I got it, but I don't know what I should say about it. It's good, I guess, but not the kind of story I usually read (or write). I liked the part where they ate pancakes, even though the idea of a bacon pancake slightly disturbs me.

Ahh, she ate a pancake by the sea. See, I wasn't paying attention again.
