If memory serves, "Leb i Sol  1 & 2" compilation contains almost the entire material of band's first four albums. Enough to decide whether you like the band. Smile
Who are you and who am I to say we know the reason why... (D. Gilmour)

Consider that, and this is strange because former YU releases and products are unknown in Italy... But perhaps it is because I have heard several times "Radio Koper/ Capodistria" and "TV Koper/ Capodistria" that in my area are receiving well... that "Nisam tvoj", "Nosim tvoj zig" and "Let u mestu" sound so familiar in my mind...!!!

They did have several popular hit singles, even during their early jazz rock phase, so it is possible that you had heard them via Capodistria radio.
All 3 compilation disks you got present their best, jazz rock-ethno fusion, first phase from 1977-81, excluding their later more mainstream oriented songs.
So, basically this is the essence of Leb i sol.
FYI, they recently re-united, however without the leader/guitarist Stefanovski and amazing drummer Tavitijan, so I wonder how it will sound....?

Wonderful band. On the top 5 of jazz rock in the world, I think.Clap

Stefanovsky is a spectacular guitarist!

Amazing instrumental compositions. Hope to review soon Besonacko and Sledovanje.

Agree. If not top 5 then top 10 for sure. The language barrier and a small country of their origin prevented them to be more widely known.

I would also add important influences of one time GONG guitarist A. Holdsworth and Sanatana's solo album (with Alice Coltrane) "Illuminations"! Superb fusion that goes in line with LEB I SOL.
