In his page  www.petergabriel.com he    wants the opinions of the fans, for his new album of covers ,..its possible submit the name of the song and artist

" Not necessarily standards or classic songs, but songs perhaps that are from artists that are less known, or songs that are less known. I'm sure some of you out there will have ideas for songs thatÊyou'd like to hear me sing and it would be very interesting to get your feedback... I'm certainly not promising to cover the ones that score the highest, because when you cover a song you really have to feel something for it, but your ideas would be much appreciated.”

Oh, I instantly begun to indulge with a twisted idea Peter Gabriel to cover a song from The Watch! It would be brilliant!

It might be interesting to hear him do a cover of "House With No Door" by VdGG.

You want Peter Gabriel to cover The Knife?

Nah, that'd never work.

Why not have him cover some Early Marillion work? The voice would fit perfectly!

Well, of course I'm a sucker for Tool songs being covered, since to my knowledge that has never been done.

Erm . . . maybe he should cover some Porcupine Tree. I think Gabriel's voice would sond really good with the already existing music, so why not?

Sorry for not being very specific, but these are pipe dreams anyway, aren't they?

A PG cover album?  Come on man, we want more original stuff!  Cover albums are unfailingly bad in my experience.

That said, he should cover the entirety of A Trick of the Tail Tongue

How about an all Bee Gees tribute? Seriously, it could be interesting to hear those songs Gabrielized. Otherwise, he should pick very unique things that are not usually targets for covers.

I suggested Mickey's Monkey by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.
Loves his Tamla/Stax/Atlantic soul does our Pete.

Although,I can hear PG singing Harry Belafonte's,'Banana Boat Song.'

'DAY-O! 'DAAAAY-O!'.....

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

I thought that he had already done a Bee Gees tribute on Genesis to Revelation.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

Errrm, I suggested an old Marillion track (Slainte Mhath) and one by Fish (State of Mind). Hope it's not considered being bad, I'm just really curious how that would work out....
