It's always great with 'discoveries', even if it's a well-established band you feel like shouting about just how great it is to each and everyone

I fully agree with what was expressed in this review. also because "Stati Di Immaginazione", remember that was hailed as a masterpiece, to me it seems more child of albums like "Jet Lag" or "Racconti Della tenda Rossa" (by Franco Mussida [see MUSSIDA, FRANCO - Racconti Della Tenda Rossa]) that of albums like "Storia Di Un Minuto" or "Per Un Amico" or still "L'Isola Di Niente". Well, my PFM rating/judgement is now ready:
1. Storia Di Un Minuto (sorry micky, but this one has something extra special to it ) 2. Per Un Amico (just as good as Storia Di Un Minuto, comes down to something else) 3. L'isola Di Niente (weakest of the three, but still good) |

Will review after a few more listens. I really want to delve in as deep as possible when it comes to these two
. But Per Un Amico is positively vibrant, and amazingly warm and rich in it's sound. And it sure feels like more than 34 minutes of music.

shame not everyone feels that way... saw some twit downgrade the album for being too short in his review once. As opposed to modern albums taking 34 minutes of good or great music.. and spreading it out over the 80 minutes allowed on a CD. pffff... |

I think it is justified in some cases, just as it is with albums of much quantity, but lower quality. But sure as hell not in this case

Just out of curiosity, what is Le Orme like, in comparison to PFM? I feel kinda lazy right now and have a terrible cold, so I don't feel like reading reviews. I'll stay with the relaxing David Attenborough instead

oohhh.. forget the ELP imitator bullsh*t. while the sound is obviously heavily keyboard centric... it is far more expressive and passionate rather than the shear aggression of ELP. Also rather than having a heavy Hammond sound... Pagliuca was much like Wakeman in that he uses the whole range of keys ..and his sound on Felona e Sorona just sounds so different than what everyone else sounded like then. Remember we had a thread here, some time back, with some keyboardists trying to figure out his sound... Raff and I contacted him to find out.. he wrote back saying he didn't even remember.. old age must be a bitch indeed hahahha. |

Ok, sure sounds interesting. Having been heavily biased towards keyboard-centric music from the beginning, I even detested Deep Purple in the hazy mists of time past (five years ago
 ), it now starting to become my favourite type of music overall. Perhaps some psychological response to being a suppressed bass player, so often overshadowed by those damn flashy guitarists

. We saw them last year.. on their 40th anni tour ... and the man still can beat the hell of out of the drums like he did 30 years ago.
