Phew! That's a lot of material. I'll see what I can find. And if my finance can tolerate it . Per Un Amico or L'isola Di Niente, that's the question? Because I'll play it safe first and go for more PFM.
|
That's probably a good idea...I'll just echo what everyone else said - get all the classic PFM albums, and then Le Orme is a good place to look next (my favorite). The great thing is you haven't even scratched the surface yet...

Cool Ryan, I was just about to PM you about Crisi too. 9 bucks is like taking candy from a baby. And Wayside does have great deals on Area too, I got my copy of Crac there too.

Also "In Concerto" is a great album. Specially for Dei Rossi's drum solo in "Truck Of Fire" but also for "Sguardo Verso Il Cielo" and "Collage" because more fourious and Heavy than in studio versions!

Regardless though...if he gets those two... he will get Contrappunti anyway hahaha.

![Heart](smileys/smiley27.gif) I love that song.. and the album. Listened to that a couple of times the other day for the first time in ages. Like James.. I tend to like and listen to more lesser known stuff. Never got the english versions.. in fact... as much as I hate to admit.. never have heard the english version of them. The language is as much a part of the overall experience and feel to the music as ..the music. I don't see how they could be anywhere NEAR as good as the originals in Italian.

I've laid hands of L'isola Di Niente aswell! So far my only thoughts are that Per Un Amico is much more musically oriented, and more actionpacked than Storia Di Un Amico, which grandeur lies more in emotion and atmosphere. Will update with more listens!

I agree... I do disagree with our dear Andrea ![Heart](smileys/smiley27.gif) ![LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) ... I do think Per Un Amico is the more accomplished album... I'd dare say a perfect album. L'Isola di Niente is not a perfect album.. but man alive.... 3 of the songs on that probably exceed anything on the first two... just isn't as 'complete' as an album as the first two. Looking forward to your thoughts.

Per Un Amico sure is a burst of energy. Listening to Generale right now...the violin...and is that a piccoloflute? ![Smile](smileys/smiley1.gif) Makes me warm and happy inside.

Hey Mick, you like Jet Lag? I think its awesome...and I just noticed two of our esteemed Collabs give the damn thing 1-star ![Cry](smileys/smiley19.gif) ![LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) I think it's a sweet ride, perhaps not PFMs best, but not worthy of a dissing....what say ye?
