Here's an excerpt from a message I got from Dan Britton from Deluge Grander, Birds & Buildings and Cerebus Effect.
"
just wanting to let you know Birds & Buildings is almost done with our album.
We put up some samples on a myspace page if you want to hear them. We'll probably have the album done around November/December, but I think I'm just gonna say
it's released in 2008 so that it will seem "new" for longer. The samples are at: www.myspace.com/birdsandbuildi Feel free to tell anyone who you think might be interested about this. Thanks for all your good words about the Deluge Grander album. That band is actually working on a new album too, which I think will be better than the first one. There are also two other projects I'm working on- so in all, I
hope to release at least 3 albums in 2008. Best wishes Dan

Also check www.myspace.com/birdsandbuildings which is pretty much the same. I goofed yesterday when setting up that page and forgot we already had one from a while ago.

Hey Dan,
Glad to see you here, and hope you'll pop in here to let us know what's going on with your projects.
To all other members:
Do yourself a favour and be on the lookout for those bands:

Excellent news! If the second Deluge Grander album is even better than AitU, that will be one hell of an album.

I agree! I think DG (and Cerebus Effect as well) has fabulous music (I guess I really like the musical vision of Dan's and his friends).
Dan: Will those two new albums (and your other projects) be released through your Emkog records?

Sure, why not? Really all "Emkog" is is a word to put on the back of a CD, and maybe a way to remind people of similarities between different bands. I'm just getting back into the whole internet promotion mindset, and I have a feeling most of the time I spend as "CEO" of this "label" will be sending out semi-spam on myspace. Hardly the stereotypical activities of a record company executive, huh?

This offers us yet more proof (if proof were needed) that we're living in a New Golden Age of Prog. In spite of its flaws, the first Deluge Grander album (AUGUST IN THE URALS) was visionary and delightful. I just can't wait for the second!

Looking forward to the new Deluge Grander. I really liked the debut and it was one of my top 10 from last year.
Birds And Buildings sounds interesting as well. I'll keep an eye out for it. |

Ahh excellent news! The August in the Urals album is one of my favorite albums of the decade. I also have every Cerebus Effect release, great stuff as well. I'll have to keep an eye out for this Birds and Buildings project. Welcome to the forums Dan!

The Birds and Buildings album is finished. I just received the CDs from the manufacturer today. It should be available at most of the prog retailers within a few weeks.

I just got the album as a promo from Dan (thanks, Dan!). I'll report back in a thread I'll open for the album about my impressions (which based on the Myspace tracks will be positive). I can tell you the art work is (much like Deluge Grander) beautiful.

Just got mine as well (bow to you, Dan). I've listened once through, and the first impression is extremely good. You are right about the artwork too. |

Ah, another album by Deluge Grander! I'll have to purchase it for sure, especially as the debut August in the Urals is a wonderful album.
Keep up the good work, Dan! I'll also check out Birds and Buildings soon as well. |

Oh, I think Birds and Buildings will be right up your alley James. This one is more on the avant side, although there is a bit of symph too. So, it's not the same as Deluge Grander, but the level of quality is still way up there. |
