Let's see if I can start something up here
Anyone catch Henry Rollins editorial about how anti-communist USA has no compunction with hollowing out its' manufacturing & economic base by buying all things chinese, you know - that last great communist power. Does power today, to paraphrase Mao, come from the end of a Walmart cashier line ? |

OOOH OOOOH OOOOH !
Just thought of one - music fans (seemingly out of touch or dated in their knowledge) bitching about MTV or the Major record labels being bad for the music world. Catch up ! MTV plays almost no videos and hasn't for years. The majors rarely if ever have been in the business of artistic development. Face it, your great ultimate great I can't believe that everyone is not buying all their albums great favourite group of yours would not be able to sell a million copies of their album because they do not play the sort of music that the mainstream like. THIS IS NOT A COMMENT ON THE QUALITY OR ARTISTIC WORTH OF THEIR MUSIC, JUST a fact of life. If mass acceptance of your musical idol(s) is so important, ask yourself why you need so much approval from others. IF you need a quote, check out the one from Oscar Peterson. And if you despise Justin Timberlake, so what, I do too, but he didn't get rich by killing babies, so why waste my time getting upset at his success. DO you remember Rick Astley from the eighties ? In general, what are the chances that a group like the Pixies stand a better chance of their music from that decade actually being played & enjoyed in a century from now (albums, but the one top 40 single). Time will separate the chaff from the wheat, and unfortunately will occasionally get it wrong. But be assured, if you need to be, that no one will die from it.......... |

Ok, I'm sorry I cant hold back!! I have to say something more..
Isn't that awful harpy the most self obsessed, out of touch, manipulative waste of space who ever dug gold?? Outside court today she was bleeting about her poor daughter having to travel 'B class' while daddy travels 'A class' Is that her biggest worry?? If I came out of a divorce settlement £25 million richer, I'd be crying with joy. Then I'd keep my head down and my mouth shut. At least the trial isn over now. Hopefully that will be the last we hear about it. Of course the media will milk it for as` long as they can. She has yet to sell her story about how the whole world hates her, and how no one loves her, and how she is only looking out for her daughters well being.. |

Burrell has one of those faces you'd probably never get tired of punching. If of course, you were of a violent persuasion, which of course I'm not.. But, yes he is a total contraDICtion.. |

From Wikipedia:
In 2007, Burrell began promoting Royal Butler wine, an "affordable luxury" brand selling for £6 a bottle. He said at the launch: "I wouldn’t give my princess just anything, and I won’t give American ladies just anything either." |

Mills and Burrell, both examples of why we should still have the death penalty in the UK.

No, no. We should just institute a 'confiscate all worldly possessions and give them to those who actually do work' penalty. |

Bloody interior architects who seem to find it reasonable to put up the bog roll up on the wall BEHIND the loo.

And at the same time decide it's a really good idea to have a 6 inch gap at the bottom of lavatorial division cubicles; why?!? Is the profession of architect riddled with ankle fetishists? Great - in addition to breaking your shoulder trying to reach the loo roll, you also have to worry about some weirdo architect drooling over your socks. |

Hah! Nice to know one of my favorite actors agrees, too: Kevin Spacey agrees with Jim's rant... sort of "Actor and theatre director Kevin Spacey has criticised the BBC for airing talent shows such as Any Dream Will Do and I'd Do Anything. "I felt that was essentially a 13-week promotion for a musical - where's our 13-week programme?" Spacey said. The Hollywood star is artistic director at the Old Vic theatre in London. "I have spoken to your chairman but he has yet to get back to me," Spacey said. The BBC replied that its shows were not "unduly promotional". |
