Some of them, yes! Some of them, no!

Some years ago (5 or 6) in netscape.com (at that time it still was a real important website and their web browsers worked well in most PCs) I read the results of a survey about which professionals were more respected then. The survey was done in the U.S. The results showed that people had a better opinion of Health professionals in the first place. In the last place, the Lawyers had the least positive opinion from the people.

Corrupt lawyers are yes.  People that abuse the legal system are yes.

Lawyers are neither. They are neutral.

Or they're supposed to be neutral. Some aren't.

this reminds me of a joke:

a truck driver had the habit to run over every lawyer he saw. one day he gave a priest who had been standing by the roadside a lift. after they had driven a few miles the truck driver spotted a lawyer and, out of habit, went for running over him, when suddenly he remembered he had a priest aboard, so in the last second he veered to the left. nevertheless he heard a distinguished thud when passing him.
"sorry, father" he said to the priest, " I nearly ran over that lawyer there".
"yes" replied the priest, "you would have missed him had I not opened the door". Wink

If they're against you, they're bad; if they're with you, they're your best friend. Wink

And if you argue with them on websites, you'll go f**king crazy. LOL

Well, I don't know if good lawyer = ruthless, but I would hazard to guess that very wealthy lawyer = ruthless. Ivan is a really nice guy (contrary to popular belief ), and he is not wealthy. My Aunt has worked for the Public Defender's office for most of her career, and she can best be described as comfortable.

Could you imagine being accused of Peter Gabriel's murder, and Ivan as the prosecuting attorney? You wouldn't stand a chance.
