At the risk of being maudlin......

my Dad took me to meet Jerry Kramer when I was eight years old (a long time ago BTW) - I've been a die-hard cheesehead ever since.  This is just very hard to take.

It must be a very DARK day for Packer fans......

I think it's the right call though.

Oh sh*t! I didn't know (I havn't watched any TV or been online yet)
Oh Favre.......As good as you still are I think it is about time to hand over the reigns.

Oh, and Rileydog..... yea I think the G-men are pretty safe at corner to be honest. Both safeties are qre questionable though.

And I hear Asante Samuel finally left the pats...for the Eagles!

My sympathies go out to all the cheeseheads.  When Roger Staubach retired from the Cowboys I went into a funk that lasted until Aikman resurrected the franchise a decade later.  Them's some big shoes to fill, Aaron!  Good luck with that...

As well as Stallworth to the Browns...and the Eagles made a big play for Moss, but he decided to stay put for less money.  Roosevelt Colvin was apparently released.

As long as Moss, Welker, Maroney, and Kevin Faulk are around, the offense is fine - I'd like to see some more young blood in the linebacker corps.  Samuel is a tough loss, though (even those he had the Super Bowl winning play right in his hands Angry).

I'm glad Moss is staying....if he got onto the Cowboys or Eagles I'd be pissed.
And Defense really is the only weakspot. As long as you have Tom Brady with that O-line (and Randy Moss) you can throw to a mailbox and the Pats offense would still be fine.
EDIT: I really hope the Giants D will be alright. I dont want them to become one of those Super Bowl winning teams that then flounders for 4-5 years.....Ouch

Well, with Knight, the Giants don't have a strong safety problem anymore.  Sure, he isn't Wilson, but he's the best we're gonna get after losing Gibril.  There's no doubt in my mind that they'll be able to draft a pretty good linebacker, so I'm not feeling that bad about this D now.

I'm listening to 102.9 our of Milwaukee and they're debating if the dates should be referred to as A.B. or A.F. (After Brett or After Favre).

Cheeseheads are gonna need a good supply of tissues for his press conference today.

The Aaron Rodgers era?? Dosn't sound right.

I don't know...the whole Giants D thing just has me a lil unnerved. I would sign Roosevelt Colvin.
Draft Dan Connor.         This way we can move Kiwanuka to DE eventually to keep our rotating D-line monster going.

I was listening to 102.9 out of Milwaukee this morning and they were talking about how odd it will be to have a QB controversy if Rogers isn't playing well. They also can't get used to the fact of finding a good back-up because that QB just never factored in to anything.

I guess they are going after Trent Green. I think Green is a good QB and I loved the years he was here in KC; however, he's taken two concussions in two years and I think it's time he consider retirement. He's such a stand-up guy and don't want to see him risk serious injury. I'll just never forget the bomb he threw to Kennison in Kansas City's overtime win over the Packers in Lambeau. One of my most memorable Chief moments.

They've been pretty aggressive so far this offseason.  I wouldn't count them out just yet.

well, with 4 wins only in the season so far and 4 losses in a row lately my hopes are not high

Just read a projected mock draft that has Miami trading Dallas their high 2nd and 3rd round picks for the #22 pick overall.  Seems they want the QB from Louisville that badly.  I think the Cowboys would jump all over that deal in a heartbeat since they'd still have a first rounder left.

I suppose I wouldn't be too confident either after all of these consecutive losing seasons.

Ido think the Raiders are improving...but they were really bad so it's gunna take a while.

And I have heard that Dallas might trade up for the 1st pick to get Run DMC....
McFadden and Barber?? Thats one sick RB duo

As if there was ever any doubt about the supremacy of the NFL and it being far and away the most popular American sport, this seals the deal.  Tonight ESPN will present a 2 hour special to announce the upcoming season SCHEDULE!  Which means that a whole lotta fans will tune in, obviously.  As for me, I know I'll have the draft coverage on in a few weeks (much to the chagrin of my wife) but I think I can read the Cowboys' schedule when it's posted on the net tomorrow...

I'm probably gonna watch the first round or two of the draft, but there's no way that I'll sit down and watch them announce the schedule for 2 hours.
