I used to listen to them quite a bit back in the day. Even since 'Follow the Reaper' I believe, they just got worse and worse. I remember hearing the new single from the new album, called 'Blood Drunk' or something. It was extremely poor.

I don't think they are prog in the slightest either if that is were you are trying to bring this topic to.

this is quite a bad band we're talking about here. they're no-where-near-prog, and they try too hard to be melodic death metal with classical flurries so they over do it. and the vocalist kills any trace of interest for me (if there was any)

Anyway, I adore this band's first four albums because they're incredibly fun to listen to. The new stuff is horrid, however.

why is this being discussed in a prog rock forum?
 
I am admittedly a metal fan first and a prog rock fan second, but Children of Bodom really doesn't do it for me... The early stuff is ok, but I find them grossly overrated. The same goes for In Flames...

They are SO AWESOME and have so many cvool songs and they're geetarist plays REALLY fast like SIKK FAST lol omg everyone shuld listen them!11one!1 Cool
