New York City's Blow Up Hollywood (http://www.blowuphollywood.com),
whose name is a backlash to the excesses of glitter marketing in media,
will play a set for the renowned Echoes radio program which reaches
across the US on over 150 radio stations. The band will perform a
customized set for Echoes out of Indre Studios in Philadelphia on August
27 to be broadcast during the week of September 15. Information on
where the show airs can be found at www.echoes.org. The band is
planning on recording the set for later release.

Blow Up Hollywood's self-released second album, Fake (http://
cdbaby.com/cd/blowuphollywood2/from/musicdish), features songs
hosting a spectacle of highly accomplished musicians, including musical
visionary, Steve Messina and Julliard Scholar Dave Eggar. The band
creates a huge orchestral wall of sound with blissful string arrangements
and poignant vocals making each track a requiem. Blow Up Hollywood is
best taken as a whole as the band's song concepts overwhelmingly
replete their albums. Sidestepping the ordinary, the band's live show is a
mixed media event with the staging of a self-produced film being run on
a screen while the band score it live, almost secretly in the dark.

Blow Up Hollywood will play live Saturday, Sept. 18 in New York City at
Tribeca Rock Club

Every track a requiem, eh? Get some variety. Oh yeah, and Velvet Underground was 'sidestepping the ordinary' back in the late 60s with film/music shows. I'm assuming the email was self-produced as well."a spectacle of musicians"? "overwhelmingly replete their albums"? Perhaps they should teach remedial high school English at Juliard.

"whose name is a backlash to the excesses of glitter marketing in media"

now there's a statement I can get behind...
