Topic: Ultimate Prog Tournament 2-4: Marillion v. Rush Posted: February 11 2008 at 20:11 |
Alright, so the Genesis and Yes ones were pretty obvious. However this one should definitely be closer. As much as I love Marillion, Rush is one of my all-time favorite bands and Lee is by far my favorite bassist (except perhaps Squire ). So Rush gets my vote for sure.

Haven't heard Marillion, but I was still tempted to give Rush a vote. I restrained myself. All I can say is that Caress of Steel and 2112 are among my favourite albums, and the other Rush albums I've got are also strong.

Dude, this is bloody hilarious. Every time you say that the poll is going to be close, you end up posting a blowout. (So far anyway... Marillion fans, prove me wrong!)

This one is really hard. The two are quite equal. Marillion needs the upper hand a bit, so I'll help them out. It really is too close to call.

Marillion was once the opening act for Rush, although it was either not here or before I was aware. I have come to really like Marillion, but seriously can anybody expect me to vote for any other band?

I haven't listened much to Marillion, and with Rush being my all-time favourite there isn't much of a competition anyway .

Rush are one of my all-time favourite bands, while Marillion don't come even close to being favourites of mine. No contest here.

like both bands very much but either of them haven't been on top of their game in years (lets face reality) I think I prefer Rush in their prime ... yeah I`ll vote for Rush even though Marillion were once a great band also.

Although Moving Pictures and A Farewell to Kings are awesome, I go with Marillion, but only for the Fish-era. However it seems that Rush gets more votes, Marillion won't go further

Easy as pie! Rush all the way, to the hemispheres and back, making permanent waves with grace under pressure.
