It's prog, definitely. Not the prog I like, to be honest. Prog tough (avantguard + psych ).
The first example of prog in Italy. In fact it was released in 1967!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Together with Le Stelle I'd like to find also "Orfeo 9" by Tito Schipa Jr. on this site: what do you think about?

^^^
Thanks, Mandy.
Can someone tell us more about this new release of Il Bacio della Medusa titled "Discesa agli Inferi di un Giovane Amante"?
It has been just released by black widow records. Unfortunately I've found no credits around the web so the album has still to be added to the band's page:
Second output for this bright new band from Perugia, Italy. The seven musicians involved in the project play a classic progressive rock following the best italian tradition (Banco, Osanna, Biglietto per l'inferno, Museo Rosenbach, Balletto di bronzo...) thanks to the expressive voice of Simone Cecchini. The use of flute and violin bring also the sound of the band near to Quella vecchia locanda stuff. "Discesa agl'inferi d'un giovane amante" is the brand new concept album which shows the evolution of a charming band.

Nice to see a sample from RRR on the homepage, they do the "Italian thing" just right...textbook blend between peaceful acoustic and the dramatic bits. I still don't have the album though, can't wait until Spring, I'll start working again: $$$ = huge RPI spree

I thought I might post this for other visitors to this thread - I picked up "Concerto Grosso - Trilogy Live" by New Trolls a few weeks ago and it's *absolutely fantastic*. I thought some of you might like it if you give it a spin.

Here's a topic when I can speak about my patriotic listenings! ![Smile](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif)
PFM-
Premiata Forneria Marconi, of course! Many people said that their music was mainly based on inluences by the english progressive leaders, but I think they really menaged to create their own special sound. My favourite album by them- L' isola di niente- surely proves it, displaying a wide range of atmospheres and sound, from the blistering and all-classic attack of the title track to the sweet melodies of Dolcissima Maria. And I even had the chance to meet Mauro Pagani last year in a musical instruments store in Milan last may! I really wanted to speak with him, but he was sorrounded by the shop's owners who were burying him under tons of odd instruments they wanted him to play, so it would have been hard to have a chat ![Cry](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif)
Anyway I menaged to get this autograph!
Grande Mauro... ![Big%20smile](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif)
BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO-
Couldn't help falling in love with Francesco Di Giacomo's voice from the first time, and what he sang- the words- were so great- you GOTTA love it if you can understand italian ![Smile](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif) ! And than there was the dynamic keyboards duo of Nocenzi bros- especially Gianni really drives me crazy. My favourite album: Darwin!
AREA-
Jazz rock to its extreme edges, with a voice - great Demetrio Stratos- really over the top, it was hard to get into it, but once I did I understood their greatness. Songs like Consapevolezza or Gioia e Rivoluzione are like hymns to me.
My favourite album: Arbeit mach frei
OSANNA-
A great act from the warm streets of Naples! I particularly like the guitarist- Danilo Rustici- and Elio D'Anna's great work on flutes and saxophones. From the eclectic rock beginnings to their ultimate masterpiece, Palepoli, digging in the origins of their beatiful town, a wonderful musical travel.
My favourite album: Palepoli
And there are many others- but I won't take other of your time and space ![Big%20smile](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif)

The currency of PA's... ![Clap](smileys/smiley32.gif) ![Clap](smileys/smiley32.gif) I should scan my autograph of Aldo Tagliapietra damnit hahhaha
