It seems this year the festival will be dominated by Italian bands (which is good!). I already posted in a different thread the first bands announced in Nov. '07 which included 3 legendary groups from the 70's Italian Prog wave. In addition to these, now they put ALEX CARPANI, a talented keyboardist that has several releases in his career including 2007's "Waterline" with a band that has former members from ODESSA and THE WATCH and also a vocal participation by ALDO TAGLIAPIETRA from LE ORME (they will perform on the festival too). Also there are 2 Japanese bands: DJAMRA and QUIKION  that follows the tradition of the BajaProg to include bands from that country, and 2 acts from South America: PLATURNO from Chile and 2112 from Argentina. Unfortunately these bands are not on PA yet (except the argentinian group 2112), but i'm sure they will be sooner or later.

So these is the updated line-up for the BajaProg 2008 :

  • Le Orme [it] Italy
  • Banco del Mutuo Soccorso [it] Italy
  • New Trolls [it] Italy
  • Circa: [uk/us] United-KingdomUnited-States
  • Riverside [pl] Poland
  • Rocket Scientists [us] United-States
  • OMNI [es] Spain
  • CAST [mx/es/cl] MexicoSpainChile
  • Abarax [de] Germany
  • Octopus [cl] Chile
  • Alonso Arreola [mx] Mexico
  • Platurno [cl] Chile
  • Alex Carpani Band [it]Italy
  • 2112 [arg]Argentina
  • Djamra [jap]Japan
  • Quikion [jap]Japan
