Pink Floyd, this bands cant simply be compared, they are veru different, and pink floyd is much better, I respect supertramp, and I considered it a very good band, but I think is completely absurd to compare them with Pink Floyd, just that |
I agree, these two bands shouldn't be in a poll anyway, they're too different. What idea for polls will be next, Rush vs Van Der graaf Generator?

Both bands I used to love about a year ago, now I doubt I've pumped either of them in six months.
I chose Supertramp.

This was a very one-sided poll...
I'd probably vote Pfloyd, too, but I don't think they're at all close enough to compare generally.

I love to death my copy of Crime of the Century. It is an amazing record. I also like some of Breakfast in America.
Unfortunately, while those two are the only worthwhile albums for me in Supertramp's catalogue, I've loved Pink Floyd in it's entirety with the exception of two albums (Lapse of Reason and Division Bell; both are absolutely terrible except the instrumental tracks). For me, Pink Floyd wins clearly, because to compare them is to compare the amazing Saucerful of Secrets, Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, and Final Cut to Crime of the Century. And Crime is blown away.
Sorry, Supertramp.

two of my faves, but Floyd has to get the nod because of the influence, popularity and longevity. They also had more albums, more classics and their whole body of work is proggier.

My brother (not a prog fan) laughed when I told him Supertramp are on PA.
Pink Floyd win by a mile.
