Yesterday I listened to La Norma del Cielo (Volo Magico n. 2) by Claudio Rocchi. Well, I think the album is rather poor depsite some sparse interesting touches. That's not enough, though, to make it a prog record. Too much minimalist and peaceandlovesque! So avoid it. We all should check Volo Magico n. 1 which is regarded as his best one.
On about Enzo Capuano I saw in the myspace page above that it is dedicated to ENRICO Capuano and not to ENZO who is now an opera singer. Does Enrico is the son of Enzo?

Piccola Rapsodia dell'Ape is nice but nothing special, in my opinion. Florian is better.
I don't have the other two classics, though. You were lucky to find I Califfi. Did you find the recent btf reissue?

To be honest I thought they were already included in this site.
Given that they're not, we will add them for sure. Think there will be no objections on here.

I don't know but at the moment the link to Enrico Capuano myspace is more interesting than the link to the official website of Enzo Capuano, who has become an opera singer...

Hi Micky. Raffaella said you now have Delirium III: Viaggio negli Arcipelaghi del Tempo. I'm curious to know your opinion.
Today I've had another listening session tour de force with New trolls Atomic System! GREAT!!!

oh my God Andrea... I loved Dolce Acqua.. but that.. was nothing to Delirium III. Raff was right though... D III was really a cut about that album. |

Hiya Folks -
It looks like this is a thread that I can really dig my teeth into. I have been really getting into Italian Prog for the last 6 months now - most of the stuff I have came from BTF in Italy: Semiramis Biglietto Per L'Iinferno Balletto Di Bronzo (One of my personal favorites) Museo Rosenbach Camp Di Marte New Trolls Le Orme I can vouch for the reissues BTF has been distributing - they are very high quality, from the artwork to the remastering. What I would like to know is, are there any newer Italian Prog bands that anyone can suggest that play in a heavier way? I'm a big fan of Porcupine Tree, and I would love to hear if there are similar bands currently in Italy that play in a heavier style (I'm considering picking up the latest CD from Minstrel). Anyone out there heard the "Zarathustra's Revenge" compilation that Mellow Records has put out? |

I would recommend you check the Italian bands in Heavy Prog and the three Prog-Metal subgenres. If you are into organ-heavy, Seventies-style heavy prog, you could try Wicked Minds and Standarte. However, bear in mind that many bands of the Seventies are rather heavy in sound. One of the best examples, if not the best, are Osage Tribe, with their only album Arrow Head.

I would recommend the prog metal band Sinestesia with the self titled album released in 2007. Great!

For I Califfi in my collection: yes, this is the new BTF reissue in Getafold Sleeve. And yes, I am a little big fan of I Califfi! (and Dik Dik!)
Le Orme "Piccola Rapsodia Dell'Ape":
Since not much is in the CD was not (but I know where to find it) I thought that the format MC was really better. |
