They're both good, but I like Porcupine Tree much more.

I've just managed to get into Caravan! I like PT, but I find them a tad bit overrated... Especially the album "In Absentia" is REALLY boring at times! I'm voting for Caravan

Ditto (all of it) After hearing only "In the Land of..." and "In Absentia" thus far, the former is much more interesting

I go for PT. Camel is excellent but has not the same energy. Hard to compare, and in fact I only choose PT for their outstanding gigs (I saw them thrice and I had never been disappointed).

I doubt half of the people who voted for PT have even listened to Caravan.

I'm starting to think so as well... How can Porcupine Tree get so many votes? Why are they so INCREDIBLY amazing? I think it's just a good band, they have never put up anything that can match the countless number of progclassics out there.. But that's just my opinion

Hey people, don't vote if you haven't heard Caravan. There, that oughta do it.

Caravan all the way! 1 of my favorite bands right now. I like PT too and i think Wilson is a very talanted man, but he and PT dont come close to Caravan imo.

Caravan isn't one of my favourite Canterbury Scene bands (though I certainly like Caravan), but I'd put any Canterbury Scene band I know over Porcupine Tree. PT are good at what they do, but Canterbury Scene is one of my favourite categories here.

Caravan, they're just behind Soft machine in my Canterbury Scene top preferences.

Woah, how could I possibly choose between these two?? I own four albums by Caravan and six (studio) albums by PT, and except for Deadwing, they all get at least four stars from me... Then again, the only five star record among all of those is ITLOGAP. But PT does have three four and a half star albums... and I do listen to them a whole lot more than Caravan. Plus, the gig last year in Helsinki was absolutely mind blowing.
Right, I'll go with the contemporary greatness and choose PT!
