Well, there you have it. I left a lot of bands aside, but those are some bands that need a bit more attention than the others. The ones underlined are my highest recommendations. The ones with free downloads are great bands as well and you won't loose anything if you try them.

in this category i can recommend to And The Furies Say they have only one album and very short but is one of the best post-rock i've heard

they are the closest band to mine in LastFM recommendations

Traditional Post-Rock is bands that are mainly influenced by Mogwai, Mono and Explosions In The Sky's sound. They don't use many effects in their music and it's mostly guitar dominated.

We Vs. Death  is a band with mostly upbeat melodies and a trumpet player. The songs aren't really long and they're easily accessible for fans of the genre.

Tuna Laguna's a more interesting band, in my opinion. They have a sort of Canterbury-ish feel to their sound. It doesn't follow the soft/loud rule of Mogwai nor the crescendos of Mono. The music is solid and optimistic all the way through. Highly recommended.

Can't go wrong with the Norwegian and their post-rock, I say.

I don't have that one, but Easily Misunderstood is one of the best Post-Rock albums around. You should get that one.

Oh yes I've heard a lot of good things about this one.

Does anyone have any opinions on the band June of 44? I know they are math rock but I'm curious as to more info.

No I'm in the same position. I'm looking for a good place to start.

But I can say that This Will Destroy You and Hood are great recent post-rock discoveries.

The Post-Rock genre needs reviewers for the less-known bands that take up 90% of the genre.

Speaking of which, here are the latest 2 additions to the genre:

Ef - http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=3434 - This band has been on my Post-Rock playlist since last summer! Great post-rock a la September Malevolence, but with longer songs and greater vocals. Keep an eye out for a new release in late January.

Cue - http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=3441 - Hailing from good 'ol Texas, Cue is a band that's half chamber rock and half post-rock. They can be seen as a rockier Rachels, a more guitar-oriented Bell Orchestre or a less acoustic As The Poets Affirm. Their first album is great as well as their second one, but if you want joyful music then check out their 2007 release and if you want a mellower sound check out their debut.
