Well actually if you don't have hair on your body, you usually end up with very dry skin... so keep some lotion handy, girls...
And I might have to go to Germany soon... where the heck is Weimar??

Thanks, we like to use baby oil all over us (now that may give you something to fantasize about). And Weimar is near Berlin.

Well, if you think we are surrealistic, so be it. In fact some call us "Alien Twins" (which we considered as band name for us first before we settled for "Bald Angels").

The album will be out in August. You can see the cover in our avatar. The pictures of us we occasionally publish in here are from the cover of the album (promotion is important!). If you want a better view of the album cover, here it is:

Oh, and by the way: It is possible the album cover will slightly change before it comes out. There may be a slightly different type font used; this is just the album cover as it looks now. It is still a work in the making.

all the best for your band!
What kind of musical mood is developped in this rather obscure project?

I described the music a bit in 2 other posts of mine:
Watch out for the debut album of the Bald Angels (a 2 women band with guest musicians; I play
keyboards and sing some harmony vocals and am responsible for the compositions,
my partner plays drums and sings lead vocals and is responsible for the lyrics;
guest instruments include bass and guitar, violin, saxes and flute, and
cello) "The Goat and the Donkey". It should be out in August. If you ever wanted
to know what a female version of Peter Hammill on acid sounds like this album is
for you.
Hello, I'm Jeanine and was born in the USA (Oakland, CA), but moved to
Germany in 1993 and have been living there ever since. I'm 36 years
old. Among my hobbies is playing piano (usually classical and jazz),
and I'm in a band called " Bald Angels"
that will hopefully have their first album out in August (hooray!). I
live with our drummer and lead singer, who also happens to be my wife
(same-sex marriage is legal here; now don't be shocked). The band is
our hobby only; we own a restaurant here. The idea for producing an
album stems from the occasional musical performances we give in our
restaurant. We play classical and jazz there. The album will be a rock
album though (named "The Goat and the Donkey", by the way, after a joke
in which a singing goat and a piano playing donkey appear). There'll be
2 classical tracks on it though, "Der Erlkönig" (The Eller King) by
Franz Schubert (lyrics Goethe) and "Der Feuerreiter" (The Firerider) by
Hugo Wolf (lyrics Eduard Mörike). They are for piano and voice only,
but Friederike, my wife, doesn't sing these songs (which both are very
dramatic, by the way) in classical style, but more like a female
version of Peter Hammill on acid. The rest of the album will not be
classical, but prog rock (and the way these classical pieces are sung
they are prog rock too, believe me; the piano is very rhythmic in both
compositions. Perhaps one or the other of you knows them even).

We think we are quite unique. Of course we have influences, everyone has them, but we created something new out of them. There's even one track in which I use the Usbekian technique of throat singing.

The name of our album is based on a joke in which a piano playing donkey and a
singing goat appear and make wonderful music.
The joke about the goat and the donkey goes like this: "The pilot of a
one-seated airplane has to make an emergency landing in he middle of the desert.
He starts walking, and after a few hours he reaches the edge of the desert.
There is an old shabby cottage there. He knocks, and an old man opens who is
overjoyed to meet him. "Finally a visitor! Come in, come in; you have no idea
how it is to live alone in the wilderness.". He serves the pilot some of the
finest food he has ever eaten, together with an excellent Bordeaux, and after
the meal he says: "Since you are my first visitor I'll show you something
special." He leaves the cottage and returns with a donkey. The donkey sits down
at a piano and starts playing with utmost virtuosity - Mozart, Beethoven,
Chopin. "Fantastic!" says the pilot. "Wait, that ain't all" replies the old man
and leaves the cottage again. He returns with a goat. The goat rears on its
hindlegs, leans on the piano and starts singing with a beautiful voice to the
accompaniment of the donkey - Lieder by Brahms, Schubert, Schumann.
"Incredible!" says the pilot. "You could make millions with that. Why do you
live on the edge of this desert instead?" The old man starts weeping: "It's all
a hoax, it's all a hoax." "What is a hoax?" asks the pilot. "The goat can't sing
at all, the donkey is a ventriloquist!"
Since when we get on stage in our restaurant one of us (I) plays piano and
the other sings (drums would be too loud in our restaurant) we named the record
after this joke.
We, however, give a rendition of
what we think it would actually sound like: I bang at the piano with my fists
only, like a donkey would with hooves, and she makes bleating noises all the
time.

We like to use a reduced form, piano and voice only, and show how much can be done with it. But there are some numbers with full instrumentation too.
