burial at sea, please.
of course, I've never been a naval officer or anything similar. I just feel more of an affinity for water than land.

I think I'd like to be stabbed with a pin once every hour for a day or two - just in case I'm suffering from some form of dyssomnia. Unless it's catalepsy, then that would be a pretty useless test I guess, though whispering in my ear that someone's scratched one of my vinyls may revive me fairly sharpish even from a deep catatonic state. Or I might be suffering from narcolepsy, so it might be an idea to check my iPod just to see if anyone's slipped a Coldplay album in there as that would produce a similar effect. Or I might just be hibernating, so best leave me until spring to see if I wake up when the weather improves.

I used to think Viking Funeral, but my friend changed my mind when he rationalized why we need to be embalmed and buried. See, if the Zombie apocalypse happens during our lifetime, we've seen enough movies and played enough video games that I think we're well prepared to survive such an event. But if it happens after we die, there's no way we're missing out on the fun! You can't be a zombie if your body is cremated!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong....but I believe a Viking Funeral is when you're put on a boat, it's set on fire, and set out to sea.

Well, being cremated and shot into space would be brilliant, I think. Particles of me floating endless miles forever on into stardust, making their way into nebulae, becoming the partial essence of new stars and galaxies.... I suppose thinking in this way, all things are circular; even if buried on earth, when the sun expands to red giant phase and envelopes earth, we'd all become solar essence. But our sun isn't going to become a supernova, so exploding in brilliant light won't be an immediate option that way. Besides, being individually shot on some trajectory toward infinite space...the possibilities are so enduring.

I agree with ClassicRocker. I don't believe in an after-life, and I happen to like consciousness, so I'd like to come back some day if the technology allows it. But I suppose that if I decide that life sucks before I die, I may just request to have my body donated to science or transplants. With the exception of my pancreas, which doesn't work all that well (I'm diabetic).

Once I'm dead I'm really not going to care WTF you do with the body, forced to pick one, It would have to be cremation.
