This has come up before. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=37339&KW=headphones Check out that thread. I've got the earbud and the over ear recommended by consumer reports and am very happy with them. Also... http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=37339&KW=headphones&PN=2 Would you believe headphones are actually a controversial topic around here? Good question to ask, because I have had experience with crappy ones. Mainly talking portable device models. Hadn't had any home use models in a long time until the Grado's, recently but they are quite good by my ears and the Sony's have the best bass response for portables I've come across, but they are an earbud type. By the way, being in a household where my wife isn't big on progressive music, having a good set of headphones to crank it up on is a major peacekeeper. By the way, the search feature is a little awkward, but it will lead you good topics that have already been started. And did you really think headphones hadn't already been discussed? That one definitely has some suggestions in your price range, like my own hint for the Sennheiser HD-205. Long cord and good sound quality included Oh, and just in case: it comes with a gold plug... Edited by Angelo - December 09 2007 at 17:43 |

Geezus, $50 for a pair of headphones! I got my Panasonics for $10 and they have by far the best bass and sound quality out of the any hundreds I've tried!

I have never heard any good headphones under $50.
I stick by my old AKG K-240's.

I highly recommend Sangean DT-110 pocket radio. This little and light tuner works and does low. It runs forever on 2 AAA batteries. Very cheap (around 40$), great combo with Sennheiser PX 100 or EH 350. Sangean DT 110 Sennheiser PX 100 |

I'm after a good set of Hi-Fi headphones and the Sennheiser HD 265 look very good. Does anyone have any experience of them? I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to sound quality but comfort for long listening sessions is also important. |

I've got a pair of the Sennheisers as well and they are OK for the money. I use them for travel and for use in other places where I'm not willing to risk my old favorite AKG K280s which were $200 or so 20 years ago when I bought them..

Geeze, $200 for a set of headphones? They'd better do more than just merely be headphones.

If you still haven't purchased any, Skull Candy is by far the best brand of headphones I have ever used. You can get over the ear, earbud, w/e you perfer.
