Edwards is my favorite of the current top three.  I'm afraid the Republicans will successfully play the Clinton/gender card in Hillary's case and the race/odd name card in Obama's.  Plus those two are successfully holding down Senate seats and Edward's is out of office.  I think Kucinich or Gravel would be excellent annoyances to the powers that be and need to be annoyed.

Obama is a terrible speaker and I get the feeling he would not be a competent leader...he can't even stand up to Hill-dog, and she's such an easy target.  It's painful to watch.

Barack Obama or Bill Richardson are the only sane choices for president. Huckabee said he would let his faith influence his policies and Romney said we need faith as a nation. These are not moderate statements and they go directly against what the founding fathers wanted (especially Jefferson). Giuliani is George Bush 2.0 and would try to shove America even further down the world's throat. Hilary Clinton is obnoxious and I just feel there's something wrong with her, besides she's unelectable.

I used to like McCain. He's a traitor now, bending to the will of the radical Republicans and Bush. I hope he doesn't get anything.

Agreed.  He's doing a bit better in the polls now, but it's too little to late for him to compete with Giuliani, Romney, et. al.  The political junkie in me is starting to get excited for the new year, it is more wide open for both sides than anything I've ever experienced, can't wait to see who survives!

People are a little sick of McCain, myself included. He was interesting until he started reneging on past beliefs in order to pander to the religious right.

_popupControl(); McCain missed his chance in 2000. I think it's too late for him now. He's a nice guy though.
Guiliani is a do-er. THe way he cleaned NYC, he won most Democratic votes for his secon term. It's a pity he couldnt run in 2000 for the Senate seat. It would have given a better feel of what he is and where he stands.

Guiliani milks 9/11, Thompson sounds like Reagan on his deathbed, Romney is a robot (plus people keep making a fuss over his religion), and the rest get no attention. Paul, like Peort before him, is charismatic and has a way of only highlighting some issues that most Americans will agree on (i.e. Iraq and the War on Terror) while hiding others (strict anti-alien, abortion, and gay marriage. I want him to be the Republican candidate because he has the best ideas out of any of them, but Obama or Clinton would get my vote.

_popupControl(); People keep asking me about the popupControl... it's my anti-virus software preventing PA pop-ups, sorry.
 
Paul has very little understanding of the ways modern economy works. That makes hin un-electable. I think it will be between Guiliani, Romney and maybe Huchabee.
 
If the Dems nominate either Obama or Hillary, it will be rather a strategic move to gather more black and women/liberal votes at the next election

Huckabee?  He's all I've been hearing about lately.  I thought one of the polls even had him leading in Iowa.

I don't think he's isolationist at all....he wants to open up more trade routes including Cuba; his main beef is with the war: in order for his small government, low-tax strategy to work, we can't go spending a ton of money on stupid wars and intervention.  I don't like his view on homosexuality but I can live with his abortion stance.  This is a given in the political realm because seldom are there candidates I agree with on everything.

People seem to be starstruck by Ron Paul. The man is insane; he's just insane in that likable Ross Perot way. His views on homosexuality and abortion are backwards, and he really wants America to revert to its isolationist stance, which is utterly impossible in this day and age. I agree he's the best and certainly the most appealing Republican candidate, but he isn't the Godsend some see him as.

^I'm actually quite pleased with the Republican's attempts to alienate Libertarians at this point (a decent chunk of their support in the past)...the more pissed the Libertarians get, the less likely they will be to get swindled by the wedge-machine again.
