My album of the week is Delain - Lucidity.

Ok, it's not strictly prog but the drumming/engineering is just superb. Well done to all concerned

Zamla Mammaz Manna - Familjesprickor (RIO, 1980)

Decided to give this a spin a few days ago and it once again blew my mind. After three spins in a row this still stands as my favorite SMM/ZMM/VZ album. Although it shows much more avant tendencies than other Samla albums, this is still a very entertaining and playful ride. A RIO highlight, and my album of this week!

Sounds like an interesting album. I imagine it's hard to come by these days.

Present - Triskaidekaphobie (RIO, 1981)

Recently got Cuneiform Records' 2-in-1 deal with Present's (Univers Zero offshoot) two first releases, and while I thought both albums were excellent, I must say that I was especially mindblowed by this one. This stuff is very complex ,sinister and dark but never boring even though the music can be a bit repetetive and intense. It's like UZ minus the horn instruments overall, but this might be even better. Highly recommended to fans of UZ especially!

Clap

It seems I underestimated Karn Evil 9 when I first heard the 3rd Impression on a prog internet station, when I got this from my library and heard the first two impressions and then the third, I could see what all the hype was about. Brilliant, brilliant album. Except for "Benny the Bouncer", actually.

With all this Zep activity this week it has really put me in the mood to listen to them and this newly remastered and expanded version of TSRTS is far superior to the original release and getting some heavy playing at the moment.

and Benny the Bouncer is meerly.... you know.. fun...  even Rembrandt had to let his hair down and get his freak on at times I"m sure... they all can't all be certified prog classics... and smart guys that they are... was a perfect intro to Karn Evil 9.  Here's some fun.. now let us bludgeon you to death hahhahahah

Like in previous weeks I have more than one album of the week, but I will post about one only this time.

Voice Of The Seven Woods - s/t
A folk/psych adventure which is mostly instrumental and conjures up occasionally a 60's psych-rock sound surrounded by a folk entourage.

I suggested this for addition a while back, hope it might get approved.
