^ I'm telling the morningside you said that.

#shels is quickly becoming one of my favirote post metal bands, they're probably the most influenced by classic prog in the entire post metal genre, and the clean vocals sound EXACTLY like Phil Collins! Conifer is not far behind them.

I also forgot to mention that I got the Latitudes album in the mail yesterday.  Clap

It starts out kinda weak, IMO... it's more like instrumental doom than progressive/post metal, but the lackluster beginning is more than made up for by the final track.

Listening to Dirge the second time around. I like it more than the first time around! The music's very psychedelic.Thumbs%20Up

There's a new band in the horizon, Lent0.  They released an album with Ufomammut earlier this year and now they've released their debut album, "Earthen", just recently. Still trying to digest it. So far the atmospheric songs aren't as captivating as the ones from Rosetta. Will keep you informed as time passes by.

P.S.
Good work on the Tides addition. They where one of my first Post-Metal bands! I'll need to listen to them again.

There is only their debut album "Refsurface",and a 3 song ep of new material called "From SIlence" so far.

I would get "Resurface" to start.

Just finishing The Ocean - Precambrian....

Wow!

This album is monstrous! It's sludge, it's hardcore, it's prog and it's awesome! Very aggressive just how I like it. Clap Thumbs%20Up

I dont know, Tides is pretty much a carbon copy of Omega Massif, and OM is better IMO, but Resurface isnt too bad.

I need to get around to Precambrian, It's so big, I just dont know if I'll ever have the time to get it all down at the same time.

^ Precambrian is actually quite short for a double album so that's probably why I like it more (not much of a fan of double albums). On the other hand, Dirge's album is huuuge! It's almost like a chore listening to it, but the psychedelic atmosphere of the album makes the album more digestible for me.

I'm listening to *shels and Souvenir's Young America for the first time.  I'm quite impressed.  both of these bands are very original for the genre... especially *shels.

In fact, *shels could be a 5 star album.  Really amazing. Clap

I haven't listened to this album yet, but I'm about to get around to it.

I was just looking at The Ocean's website, and it's pretty interesting.  For some reason, they have their tour riders posted on the site, so if you're interested in seeing what kind of liquor and weed the band orders for their shows, now you can... LOL

The stage setup and audio diagrams were fascinating, to me anyway.
