Let me introduce my bezzt Prog Dream Team : Jon Anderson (Vocal), if i need growl nuance, i ask Mickael Arkelfeldt as the Man David Gilmour (Guitar), If I want faster shred guitar i give John Petrucci a chance to be among the Legend Keith Emerson (Keyboard) if he seems so dominate the band, i will choose Rick Wakeman and Jordan Rudess as the super-sub John Ro Myung (Bassis) Keenan Nasution (Drum) Ian Anderson (Flute)
And they will play a tribute to King Crimson

This will sound depressingly like I listen to about seven bands. Justifiable.
Keyboards - Rick Wright Guitar - Steve Hackett Vocals - Greg Lake Bass - John Wetton Drums - Mike Giles (was on ITCOTCK, strangely enough, the bizarre drumming of the album has grown on me inordinately) Lyrics/Songwriting - Roger Waters Saxes - Ian McDonald Flute and tomfoolery - Ian Anderson

It's difficult, so i'll choose two for some instruments
Vocals - Peter Gabriel and Peter Hammil
Keyboards - Keith Emerson and José Cid (I'm suspect because of my nationality)
Two Guitar Players - David Gilmour and Andrew Latimer
Drums - Christian Vander and Phil Collins
Bass - Chris Squire and Roger Waters
Lyrics by Jon Anderson and Roger Waters
Flute and ... everything - Ian Anderson
Cover Art - Roger Dean and Hipgnosis (Storm Thorgerson)
Producer and engineer - Alan Parsons

Probably this type of thread don't hit the center of the objective because each says its without to want to deepen to the bottom that everything goes understood in a general speech of the Prog and done not report to a genre or ten year period.
In every case my particular band is impracticable since some musicians are dead... Or aren't more profits. But this is my band:
Vocals: Donella Del Monaco
Various Keyboards: Vangelis, Patrick Moraz, Rick Wakenan, Michele Bon, Vincent Crane, Flavio Premoli, Vittorio & Gianni Nocenzi
Guitars: Eric Clapton, Steve Morse, John Du Cann
Violin: Darryl Way
Trumpet: Miles Davis
Bass: Jaco Pastorius, Bob Callero
Sax: Mel Collins
Drums: Mike Terrana, Mike Portnoy, Billy Cobham, Walter Calloni, Nunzio "Cucciolo" Favia

Ok, for me, I will do mine, excluding all past, present or future members of Genesis. Otherwise, my dream team would be the classic five members:
Here it goes:
Vocals: Peter Hammill
Keyboards and Vocals: Kerry Minnear
Guitars: Robert Fripp
Bass: Tony Levin
Drums: Neil Peart
Music by Minnear and Fripp
Words by Hammill and Peart

I call it WTF:
Fred Frith--Prepared guitar, communism Lemmy--Bass, facial hair Ian Anderson--Winds, vocals, lewd gestures involving a flute Mike Portnoy--Drumming all over everything, destroying subtlety, eating babies Edgar Froese--Sequencers, stage presence Mikael Akerfeldt--Growling, guitar Ravi Shankar--Sitar, spiritual guidance The Mascara Snake--Bass clarinet, being fast 'n' bulbous Brian Eno--Twisting knobs, pretending to contribute Robert Fripp--Guitar, making people quit

And
Ian - the failure

How could I forget:
Ian--Shred guitar even though Eno turned his amp off; making Akerfeldt's vocals sound listenable; failing.

Love it Sticking to, ahaha, realism, my 5-piece pick would be: Guitars: Robert Fripp Vocals: the Shulmans Keys: Tony Banks. Or Rick Wakeman. Bass: Giorgio Piazza. Or Roger Waters. Drums: Christian Vander haha.

My dream lineups always end up being Yes (Bruford and Wakeman era) .
Without Yes members:
Neil Peart: Drums
Keith Emerson: Keys
Tony Levin: Bass
Roine Stolt: Guitar
Peter Gabriel: Flute and Vocals
