Heyyyy. My wife's an African American and I assure you she is not a blackhole. Although it wouldn't be like me to be completely serious so I must comment on the Larch, the Larch, the Larch, the Larch. Edited by Slartibartfast - November 01 2007 at 22:50 |

One might ask Mrs. Fiona Lewis about this. Of course Arthur Aldridge and Cardinal Richelieu might have something to add. But now for something completely different. The larch. Edited by StyLaZyn - November 02 2007 at 08:31 |

Actually, you would experience time at a normal rate, thus enabling you to "feel" a quick death. It would only appear to take an infinite amount of time to an outside observer, and there can't be outside observers to you dying in a black hole because you'd be crushed to death inside of the event horizon and nothing within the event horizon can be observed. SO THERE! |

True enough, if time slows down inside the event horizon, that means your perception would slow down as well, and therefore you would experience it as time passing normally. However, outside of the event horizon millions to billions of years would pass while you were being pulled, ripped and crushed to death. I didn't say you would have time to listen to all your favorite cds and read your favorite books, etc. As someone else pointed out, your cds would play very slowly as well. Everything inside the event horizon slows down. So the death that took billions of years would seem to the observer within the event horizon to occur almost instantaneously.
