Can't add much to that Petra, a wonderful album. I also love Phil Lynott's part with Julie Covington, but Justin Hayward's contribution is supreme. The album should be included in the "Various artists" section of the archives.

Really great album, Jeff Wayne managed to blend two opposite genres from the late 70's, Prog' and Disco music, but he did it so well that even a Disco hater like me can love and appreciate the album.

The whole album is a bit of a musical 'fudge' to me.Not really that satisfying overall,good in places but ultimately I can live without it.

It was probably the first encounter I had with prog in any shape or form. My friend played it to me in 1978, and I loved it. I have a vinyl copy complete with the picture book, although its rather tatty now. I will no doubt get round to buying it in on

I agree that it's a fine album. However, I bought the box set back in 1980 and it contains a terrible, terrible, twelve inch disco re-mix of the main theme.

If you find a copy if the disco re-mix, it should only be used as a last

Heh, I'm afraid I'm actually going to have to agree with Reed Lover.  Let's just say I refuse to ever rate an album with a great deal of narraration any higher than a 2.  I'd actually compare it to Wakeman's Journey to the Center of the Earth in
