Topic: Puscifer? Posted: October 30 2007 at 16:40 |
As a huge fan of everything Maynard has done, you dan imagine my surprise when I heard of. This new project, which came out today. Could someone fill me in on what this is all about, as in type of music? Sorry if this isnt progressive music also.

I'm going to listen to it later tonight.
I've heard some bits of the album and it sounds like Trip-Hop to me. I'm quite surprised to see him making this kind of music, but from the little that I've heard it doesn't sound half bad.

I may get it at some point, but I don't expect it to be at all similar to Tool or APC.

I actually like this album a good bit. Take all your expectations and throw them out. It sounds nothing like anything Maynard has ever done.
It's actually sort of lackluster electronic/trip-hop, but a few of the songs are really catchy. The video for Queen B. is great as well.

Pretty much. Puscifer actually started out as a fictional band on the series Mr. Show (surreal, slightly subversive comedy... David Cross and friends basically). The band was supposedly comprised of Maynard and Adam Jones. Maynard also made several appearances on the show.

The albums' pretty good. I heard it yesterday night and I enjoyed most of it. Nothing really mindblowing, but it was more than what I expected.

I got their debut album over the weekend and I like it so far, it's interesting. It's completely different from Maynard's other projects (not that I consider APC and Tool to be very similar).
