We're are an up and coming band from Boston called The Under. It is safe to say that we are a mix of heavy prog and progressive metal as they are defined here on the site.

We would love to hear feedback about our music from all you folks out there. You can find our music and info on upcoming Boston shows at the links below.

Too bad the Vanguard track doesn't seem to play (it plays, but I hear nothing).

Antiquation has a great build up, keyboards and guitar. As I mentioned before on this forum, I'm not that much into metal at this point in time, but this sounds very good. Great sound quality as well.
Singer seems to have two distinct voices: one for the rough (screaming) work, one for the more relaxed parts. I must say I prefer the second one.
Question: with trio's of drum, guitar and bass I often feel like a second guitar or keyboard could help fill the gaps. No so in this case - did you by any chance include two guitar tracks in Antiquation?

Let me know when the other link is fixed (or if the problem is on my side), I'm interested!

Not sure why Vanguard won't play for you. Why don't you try our myspace? Both tracks are included there as well. www.myspace.com/theunder  I'd  be happy to forward the other 2 songs on the EP if you'd like. Let me know where I can send them.

Thanks for the kind words regarding themusic. Just so you are ware there are no keyboards in the song Antiquation, it is all guitar, bass, drums and vocals.  There are layers of guitars but not to any extreme. Rhythm tracks are all doubled and I play leads over those.

Angelo, is there any way to fix the heading in the post? I meant to type Look Out.

Hi again Underling.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts about the layered guitars - the question was triggered because the sound was 'full', yet the line up did not mention keyboards, and in some points I pretty clearly heard two guitar tracks.

As for Vanguard: it's on MySpace that I didn't get it to play (it plays, the lights go up and down, but I heard nothing).

I'll PM an admin about the thread heading.

I was playing the tracks from MySpace on my PC earlier. Now I'm on my notebook and Vanguard plays fine. A lot heavier, less to my current taste, but if I were in a metal mood that could be different. Same compliments on quality and composition apply, regardless of my tastes! Keep it up!
