Topic: Cartoons and/or Memes: Political and/or Funny Posted: October 19 2007 at 10:30 |
Hadn't seen a thread for this. Thought it would be fun to make one where we can share stuff for a good laugh.
I was going to share one from the New Yorker titled "Ecosa Nostra" It shows two mobsters, one digging a grave and the other holding two bags with body parts hanging out of it. The caption reads "Instead of plastic garbage bags, I though we could try these earth-friendly canvas totes." Unfortunately, the magazine does not allow links to their cartoon bank as they sell reproductions.
So here's a good recent one from one of my favorite political cartoonists:
Tom's blog:
Archive of cartoons is here:

This is from a liberal blog called Bartcop. He links to a lot of funny cartoons and things.
Updates daily more or less.

If these cartoons could be a bit more "international" like the Al Gore's for instance, people should come more frequently, no?

Thanks, I'll try harder.
Trying to find more general non political humor too, to maybe get the ball rolling.

Castro is sort of the Dick Clark of world leaders. Interesting, cheeses me off the New Yorker doesn't allow you to link to items in their cartoon base. They had a cover recently of Ahmadinejad (think I spelled that right) in a toilet stall with some guy in the opposite one trying to play footsies with him.

This guy puts out stuff daily. Found him in a liberal monthly humor paper called the Funny Times. Really good if you're looking for a non-politcal laugh.
Go here if you'd like to see more:

I can't find it anywhere, but I saw a great one in the OpEd section of my newspaper not too long ago. It said "Giuliani's clock is always at 9:11" and it showed his face in the middle of the clock with his arms at the respective time.
And on a different note,
